They are likely using the same adapter as the 4050's that had the 359T (5.9L) in them. The one from a 4030 (329) may also be the same bolt pattern, not sure, would have to check. Doubt that 414 is 404 replacement due to popularity, but anyhting is possible these days. Should check with JD dealer on that one some day.
How well does the 414 run anyways?

Maybe you didn't understand my point about let anything go...................Eventually it costs the person enough money and poor finishes that they either quit the stuff or lose out on points. Burning holes in the pistons was kinda what I meant when I said 'give them enough rope to hang themselves'. How many times do you replace pistons before you get sick of it. If you own your

Thanks, Guys. It still amazes me that there is always someone who says 'the late model came with such and such engine'. Most times it is someone who doesn't know much about the model in the first place, and bought one that someone else shoe-horned the bigger engine into.

619 is 531 "replacement" block I guess. Have heard that the cranks will fit either. Was never in any 2WD tractor made by Deere that I'm aware of.

This whole "water/SF" arguement is ridiculous!! Never seen so much BS about one issue. Let's face it, there will always be cheaters. The best way to deal with it is to take all options to cheat away from them. Let everyone in every class run any/multiple additives they want. Problem solved.
Just like prohibition way back when. Tell someone they can't have it, and they want it more t

Relatively speaking, if you were to fasten wheels to axles of the Challenger, what do you think it would look like? The same as almost every other MFWD tractor on the market, right? They are considered a 2WD based on the chassiss design. Same as MX series Case IH or say 8000 series Deere. If this was a Deere 8000T series, would you becalling it a 4WD?? Don't think so.

Perhaps not the cage, but you probably should be belted on. Can't discount side sheets and scatter blankets w/steel flywheels. You don't have to be turning 5000+ rpm to have parts fly or a flywheel scatter.
All it takes is for one serious injury or death as a result of 'negligence' (insurance companies love that one!) and 'fit hits the shan' !!

I have seen it put to the test myself in Bowling Green several times. Most often with a mini, but I have seen a Super Stock flopped on its side there also. Can't remember the name of it, but recall it being a white 4520 or 4620 JD. A cage is well worth having.
We have them in our own club, and for good reason. There was an incident prior to the cage where a guy was having a rough run a

Agree with both of you on the component thing with where pulling is today. It should probably be an option going forward. We have not formally dicussed it in our organization, but it may come up next year.
Sounds like you are looking at a 410 ci rule? Wonder if you guys have scouted rules from different orgs to see what may be the best option? What about multi turbo, like a LLSS type class? T

Good point, hadn't thought of it that way. Finding an automotive piston with 1.25" piston may be tough. Guess you could always bush the rod hole down if you had to.

Your engine is 302. 4"x4" bore & stroke.
early 4020 is 341. 4 1/4"x 4" bore & stroke.
late 4020 is 362. 4 1/4"x 4 1/4" bore stroke.
you would need the 362 crank & pistons for this job, and I'm not sure if it will all fit in the same. Not sure if late 4020 block is a little different.

Couldn't agree more!! Brian and others like him are the whole reason I go to pulls like BG. If (and that is a large if) it becomes watered down with cross manufacturer line engines, the desire to see them will certainly be diminished for me. For some reason, some people continue to say the fans don't/won't care, but some of us still do. As a puller, I care even more. A very poor d
