"Because it’s far more intelligent to re-engineer oem castings to accept all the same driveline components used in a component so you can still say you have an ag rear"
..........you couldn't have said this any better. This statement applies to all Ag chassis classes. It is amazing what some have done inside while retaining the "appearance" of stock housings. It truly begs the question wh

Couldn't agree with you more on being rested for the Monday drive. Sunday afternoon show was awesome and had a nice wind down period for the evening. Always thought it worked great.
Contrary to some opinions, not ALL campers wanted to ditch the Sunday show.
Back when this was being bantered about, the supposed justification was about not having to take Monday off. When you have five se

Jake,
Believe me when I say we were significantly less than thrilled with not being able to attend!
While we had a healthy party environment with our "camping on the farm online streaming" in Ontario with the Ohh Deere Pulling Team, it was commented on several times from people in the group about the obvious lack of North Siders and it appeared there was less enthusiasm than we typically s

If we get moved one more time, it will be to a site with no services......which isn't wonderful if you've had a serviced site for 20ish years now. We were very thankful to receive services after spending the first 5 plus years envious of those who had them.
The show is good at the current size. I like big/many classes, but not everyone does. Sessions of 3 - 3.5 hrs (4 hrs max) is be

We finally pulled the plug on any hope of the BG adventure last last night.
It seems there will perpetually be some excuse to keep the non-essential border traffic shut off (watch them open it next week now that we've said no).
This will be the first (somewhat) voluntary pass I've taken on going to BG since we started this adventure 25 years ago. Have to wait another year I gues

At this time, the border is still only open for essential travel. Unfortunately most of the media omitted some key terminology in their reports. The restrictions lifted were only to aid essential travel by scrapping the 14 day quarantine if you are fully vaccinated (while also requiring a negative Covid test going each way). So basically nothing has changed for most Canadian citizens who want to

Yes, Donald Labonte passed away earlier this year.
It will be tough to say who will be ready to pull at BG. With what appeared to be little hope of a border opening for so long (and no season on deck here), a person can start to lose the drive to be ready.

I don't know what is required as yet.........waiting for official announcement the border is open before I get too concerned about that.
Armada is the same weekend as BG unless I'm mistaken, so unfortunately I will not be there.
That being said, there are others from the club who do not usually go to BG that may be ready and itching to pull there.

Current plan is to be BG bound unless they get crazy and extend the closure another month. Which will be beyond frustrating.
Parts availability is tough......just costs more to have stuff shipped direct.
And at current rate you are 100% correct........we could likely pull in the US before we will ever pull here.

If you contact sfi, and pay for the 47.1 spec roll cage package (document), it will tell you everything you need to know about mounting and construction.
While it may not reference specifically how and where to mount the cage to every ag manufacturer type application, it most certainly does reference welding spec/fastener requirements for mounting, as well as tubing type and size spec/spacing

You'll find that non structural 7.6 block in some 95/9600 combines for sure. I don't know specifically all applications that carried that block. But also likely in some cotton pickers and forestry applications.
Yes, the Eburg after market block is heavier for sure. Don't know the weight. Has heavier main caps with bolts @ 90° externally as well I think . I also believe it has in

As I understand it, the one on the left is a non structural, and the one on the right is structural (also often the "large" bolt pattern). Someone may disagree, but I know there's a definite weight difference on the two.
Hope this helps.

I should point out these are "complete" engine weights, not j

Based on popularity the 404/466/7.6/8.1 has, in the pulling world, always been referred to SBJD.
While I see your point, there are damn few Dubuque small blocks hitting the popular classes of pulling.
Just the way it is.

It uses neither. It is based off of the 329/359 series engine. Basically it’s a 359 with a longer stroke. It’s really a 300 series engine. Different animal altogether.

Charles I will not disagree on the the issue of invalidating. Obviously anyone with a cast rear (which I also still have) would probably be angry initially, and I get it. But this would not be the first time that something has changed in a class and caused anger. Eventually most will see the logic behind a given change and buy into it at some point.
The air ride front is also something that I

Thanks for making a well worded, fact based reply. I couldn't agree more on the component vs Ag chassis costs......I am not seeing any savings in building around an Ag rear. And I have yet to grind out the castings anywhere as I'm not about to compromise the integrity of it. I'm more or less an LLSS right now, and would gladly allow component build in our club, but it seems there i

oops.....posted in the wrong spot first time!
Typical SFI cage mounting for a Deere typically encompasses 4 of the axle housing bolts at the differential housing (on each side) as well as 2 bolts on the rear of the differential housing. Many full mount plates will also use all original fasteners on the deck as well. Pretty stout when you look at how it is encapsulated.
