But you do understand where the fire is going to be, don't you? It is going to be in front of you. So, to get out of the cage and off the tractor, you will have to go through the fire. Do you want to be going through that fire with a t-shirt on or a rated firesuit which allows you a few seconds of protection. Jason was not a proponent of multi layer firesuits until last year at Tomah whe

In response to the original question, I think you have the right answer JR. There is very little difference in TWD between organizations and State. Regional, Grand National or Grand American. It all depends on how much the owner wants to spend. I know of a few TWD at the state level that would be very competitive at the GN or GA level if they wanted to travel. JW

No, run each according to their organization's rules. So, how do you all think the NTPA Limited Pro Stock would stack against the best PPL Super Farm? JW

I would like to see some of the PPL SF go against Salenbien's "Never Satisfied" head to head and see how it comes out. Salenbien seems to be the hot NTPA Super Farm right now. It would be an interesting comparison. JW

I don't think any of those make as much power as AT does and AT is not at the top of the list in my opinion. When they show up and go against AT, they are normally well back relative speaking. But as said, AT just puts it in the ground better. JW

Pulling isn't all that fun if you don't have spectators in the pits wanting to talk or get pictures. It certainly isn't a money making deal for most. JW

The Black Widow probably has the most horsepower (which may be the reason it doesn't hook as well--blow tires out of the dirt). I would say Cross-Threaded is next. Then probably AT. Bill just seems to have the knack for hooking what he has better. However, the numbers of each aren't that much of a difference. When you are talking 10,000 horsepower, what is another 2-300 hp more or

There will be a meeting of all NTPA Mini competitors (GN, RN, State) at Terry Schisler's pit at Fort Recovery at noon on Saturday, July 31, 2010. Ideas/suggestions/issues concerning the class will be discussed so that any agenda items can be presented from the Divisional Committee members to the NTPA Board of Directors. Your comments/ideas/suggestions are needed. You can be present or giv

I think there is only a couple of classes that are close enough to make comparisons: TWD, being the most alike and I think the results at Tomah gives that nod to the NTPA. The FWD class is likewise very close and I think the nod has to go to the NTPA there as to who is better and more likely to win a championship. Superfarms aren't close with the turbo rules. Mods from PPL do not compare

Well, you really missed the wheel extravaganza at Arcola just after the fireshow on Flash. Won't be at Sandusky. Preble, Fort, Tiffin, Armada, BG, Greenville, Wauseon, Findlay, and maybe NC State Fair. JW

You also have to realize that Jimmy is the NTPA Region 2 Director (or he was). Maybe he is just running the RN2 circuit and not GN as he has done in the last couple of years. JW

I don't mean to rain on anybody's patriotism, but it is not just "young" men and women who make the sacrifice. What is young? 20, 30, 45??? To me, most of you are young, but there are many "older" men and women who serve each and every day around the world wearing the military uniform of the United States of America. Check out the ages of the veterans killed in this latest police ac

There are many brush pulling organizations and self promoted events across the country. The rules that applied to that event were probably specific to a particular group. Any group of pullers can get together and say "this is what we allow for our show" and those rules might not be applicable to any other group in the country. So, to say a 3000 RPM class is the same in Ohio as it is in Indiana

Sorry, but I am not sure where your "dyno" info is coming from. If you are comparing horsepower and nothing else, Fairbanks is at the top of the heap, then probably Stigge, with Adam Bauer, Adam Koester, Larry Koester, Scott Walker all about even, then Petro, Max Smith, and Jerry Thompson. Denny has the potential with his heads and blower, but hemis win the horsepower game. You, of course are

I think you are a little off in your statement about sled operators. Each time myself or one of the boys belts in, I trust Vaughn, Dan, or Doug or whoever is in the seat with my/our life. Both our machines are built with all the safety we can put on, but when the chain is attached, we are at the mercy of the operator. He can save us or he can let us go over (and we have been in that instance

The original question was "Is money hurting the sport?" Given y'all's scenario of farm stock, when the "for fun" guys quit showing up, how good is the show going to be when there is only one of two or even just 6? The event probably won't last too long. Then, you have your answer. Yes, it hurt it. Same can be said for any class really. How many drop out because they can'
