That is not the only one Swift ever crashed. There are many more: Bauer's times 3 or 4; Jon Schisler at BG; Josh Everett at Connersville, the list goes on. I will attest to roll cages. Our first year, Jesse went over in Kentucky. No roll cage and the whole unit is on top of him. The cage actually stopped the complete turn over. I wouldn't even consider running anything without a

What the heck does horsepower have to do with anything pulling related. Tell that to the lady driving the antique last Labor Day in Ohio. Her small JD or AC went right over backwards. As luck would have it, Bob Curren's sled was built just right to stop the tractor from totally crushing her. It is not all about speed. Any tractor can tip over backwards, sideway or even frontways when fr

Look at it this way, if Brent is swamped, what good would it do to answer your call. He wouldn't be able to help you anyway. So, from his perspective, he is not really throwing anything away. Now if it wasn't going good for him and he ignores you, that is simething different. Brent and Dennis both are good and as concientious a people as there is. So, really what are you out? Go

Actually, a DOT "certification" is not really a certification at all. It is merely a statement by the manufacturer that their helmet will pass the DOT test IF it is ever tested. The manufacturer needn't submit samples to get the authority to label their product DOT. Snell ratings are a different subject.
The following is copied from "About.com" :

The Snell rating is

I have great deals on Snell approved helmets by HJC. Of course, you know that 2010 brings about a new certification for Snell. I am not sure if the NTPA will now require a new expiration date or not. If it is time to upgrade, go to the website: www.snowcitymi.com or give me a call. Buy your helmet at someone you can trust and get great service. Helmets can have dual or single lens with many

Back in the day, our first mini was two lengths of 1 X 3 steel tubing of about .090. The rebuild of that we used .125 wall thickness. Had a 496 alcohol injected Buick V-8 with a Turbo 400, 12 bolt GM rear and Firestone tires. What a ride! Those were the days--no cage, no belts, no individual brakes--steered by leaning one way ot the other, many didn't even wear a helmet. What the hell w

Jake, from those I have talked to (not every SS puller), it seems that the class representatives wanted this rule change. Now, if the reps only voted their own conscience, then there is an argument to be made. But, if the reps actually polled the competitors in the classes and the democtratic principle applied--majority rules--then presented the change, so be it from the competitor's persp

Here is an idea--I realize that Illinois isn't an NTPA state anymore, but other state organizations are. The NTPA has a law firm that takes care of their business. Why doesn't the NTPA give this lawyer something to do and research all of the requirements for the states and give the information and right and LEGAL way for the pullers to get to the pulls. That would be a good use of so

Jimmy sure had his act together this year on setups and maintenance and was strong everywhere I saw them on the NTPA circuit. To "whip" on the PPL guys with the bigger motors is a nice accomplishment. If there was a "generic" "Hooker of the Year" award, the Bosch's would certainly be contenders. JW

No horse in this except for knowledge about traction control. You make yourself look like a fool when you say that the "body is up and people are looking over the truck". TC is "in" the ignition and parts can be carried in the pocket. The items are very small and virtually undetectable to the naked and/or untrained eye. Heck, even MSD has to have the box at the factory to decide if it is in a

Actually, it is not an "invite". Pullers earn the right to compete in the Enderle by committing to run a whole season and earning the points to be there. Now, of course, they can decide not to go, which we might see some take that option. I think if there is a refusal and it is communicated prior to the event, then the sixth place (or second place team in the Regional divisions) team/puller is

Actually, the process begins this weekend at the Enderle. The divisional committees will meet to discuss proposals to present to the full board at the December meeting for approval or rejection. So, if you are a competitor in the NTPA classes, be sure to contact your divisional rep to get your comments and suggestions heard so thay can be acted on. I know the mini class had an impromptu meetin

A good -2 is about11.5 to 12 gpm and the -4 is about 15. I too thought the original answerer would have to run some type of bypass off the pump. The Enderle 990 is about equivalent to the -2 and the 1100 is about equivalent to the -4 if memory serves me right. JW

If you will look around on ebay, you will also see other decals from manufacturers that send decals with items they sell, in essence giving them away for free. Then, a guy who bought the product sells them. Normally, the ones I get end up being lost because I won't advertise for a manufacturer who does nothing for me but sell me parts at retail. If you want an NTPA decal, let me know, I h
