Whats the best way to set up a wet head/dry block combo without using block filler on a DT motor? I dont want to run a complete dry setup, and wanting to try to keep using the factory water pump. Im trying to eliminate the possibility of the sleeve o-rings leaking (i was warned it can happen with the kit I am going to run) Thanks for any input! Just wondering what other guys are doing.

I'm building a 540 ci DT motor. We are limited to 3250 rpms and an a pump. What are opinions on or not running, a main cap girdle? Thanks!

I agree. I was there...time for them to go. Bring back the mod 4x4s or super mod 4x4s. I think there should deffinately still be a 4x4 truck class.....just not the diesels. Just one guys opinion.

There are diesel dragsters for the record. And I don't know but I would imagine it has something to do with internals as far as housings....spooling characteristics...etc. I'd get what's meant to be run.

Im puting one in an 806 which is essentially the same chassis. Im not sure if the 7s are any different. To put one in mine I am using the rear plate and front timing cover from a 66 series. trouble is the frame rails are smaller (5" where as 66's are 7") so it will take some modifying of frame rails or use 66 rails, which are wider so to keep the stock width I put new channel and replaced th

Im building one to run 3250 RPM and am going with a roller cam. The key is find a DT block with 468 at the beginning of the number stamped into the block below the intake. They are the best chance of already having rollers. If not then they are already bored big enough to put them in. Thats what I've been told on here....I havent gotten into the tear down of the motor yet.

I was wondering what's the best way to tell if its a plus head? I hear its under the intake.....so is that below the intake or you have to take the intake off? Also what's the difference between the two?

Should hydraulic oil still be run in the rear housing and trans even though I've switched to rack and pinion steering and have no hydraulics left? Running altered farm with a 3200 rpm limit. Any info would be appreciated.
