Excellent interview! I would like to see more one on one conversations like that vs the podcast with a bad connection. Watching all those old pulls sure makes me miss those days, they can say that the modern fast pulls are better, but I still differ, all the different combinations and driving styles kept it interesting, just watch the crowds in the background pumping their fist after a good run,

Ya know it doesn’t matter if it’s exhibition or not we get the same rush of adrenaline for a few seconds, even on a lesser ride, I’ve had to run exhibition plenty of times just because I didn’t have a class to run in, so I’d say for no more than it pays to run a big mod, he says I’m gonna go have some fun with something unique, and more power to him I can’t wait to see it finished and go down the

I believe it’s lack of skilled machinist and operators more than anything, and just the shear number of pullers anymore which requires more parts

Start tractor, load on trailer, start truck, drive to pull site, start tractor and hook to sled, load tractor on trailer and start truck and drive home, wash and repeat next weekend. She will still be there when you get home or will probably go with you. I took mine to a pull on our first date so she knew what she was getting into ,36 years later still going pulling, I’ve bought a bunch of tractors

Went to Eldora and it was great, top notch facility and very well run event.
My take away is that was a very diverse crowd, most were passionate fans of what they were there to see, just by all the drivers t shirts and the passion they had for their drivers, much like you USED to see at a pull, the big thing that I noticed there and at Norwalk is that everyone is watching the racing, very very f

I’ll be there Saturday night for the first time, I was already thinking how it will compare, we went to Norwalk last year for the first time to the NHRA, that was a great experience and will continue to go every year, pulling should take notes as to how they operate especially with their sound system

More explanation of weight on the sled and pulling resistance and speed of the box , for each class would definitely help a newbie understand the differences in horsepower and traction, it could be done digitally on the sled very easily if they had the ambition to do it

I’d say $150k in an existing chassis would build a nice 5.0 pro stock, still would be a fun 15 seconds and load it on the trailer ready for the next night

At the truck show they remove the bottom side chairs on the left side and makes a lot of room but they can’t do that at the farm show

Plenty of room for the mini sled, in the corner where they park the tele handler, I’d say Saturday afternoon to start with by replacing the pro’s , and see how it goes, at least that way they wouldn’t have to worry about a quick turnaround, let all the afternoon sessions be one and done

As much as I like a pro stock tractor I believe 2 sessions would be plenty and take 8 to the finals and add mini rods, they put on a great show at the truck show, and yes I like the light supers as well but it seems that the cold weather gives them fits other than Blackbourn
