I see the Legends group has this on their schedule. Most of the tractors are in Ohio, but I was wondering if in addition to the Ohio tractors, any Illinois or other midwest vehicles may run? Is this invitational, or could any vehicle meeting the legends criteria hook at this event?
If the Bosse tractor and tank tractors can run with Doug Bend and Larry McVey, that would be neat to see. Anyone

The Bosse Bros. and their crossbox invention changed the game for the mod class more than any other single innovation. The Allison Team and Ralph Chamberlain, followed a few years later by Art Arfons, opened a new horizon of powerplant to the sport.
In the SS class, I'd put Ron Perry and Dave Stangle in this same tier. The Conner Bros and Brent Long may never have done what they did were

How many hooks does your class need to have before you feel like it's worth it to join an association or member state?
I understand a small local association that charges $40 to join may be a different calculation than several hundred $ like NTPA for example.

Pre-Covid, the European pullers would alternate between inviting a mod and super stock for the European Super Pull.
I'm not sure if US pullers will ever get invited to Europe again, but if I could pick a Super Stock to cross the pond, I'd choose Ross's Triple Bypass. It would be cool to see him run against the top European tractors.
As far as mods, cannot remember who has alre

This isn't one that changed hands but a new build.
The Pullers Championship webpage shows a pic of a new tractor for Dylan Owens. He'll run 4 at this event, but the photo looks like it would hold 5 if we could see a right front engine. Is one or both Owens tractors planning to run unlimited this year?
Also NY related, Mark Cole ran his tractor as a twin at a few late season State

FPP manages to keep things fairly competitive in their Run What You Brung class. If they could do it, surely OSTPA could.
FPP not only has blown and SSD trucks, but n/a fwd modified trucks including mountain motor, PSD trucks, limited diesel and even had a nitrous truck at one time. I am not sure of weight breaks, hitch heights, or if they adjust these, but there are all kinds of videos.

I noticed the SSD FWD trucks are sanctioned in their own class this year after running with the SMFWD class.
Out of curiosity, how many regulars does OSTPA anticipate? Are the diesels still allowedto hook the SMFWD class, or were they booted out? Having blown and smoke together made for an interesting class. Was it that the 7500lb trucks were gaining too much on the blown trucks?

WPI sets the purses. If you look at the 1985 Tomah poster that 110,000 was paid out to 16 classes over 5 sessions. In 2023 there will be 28 classes over 5 sessions. .... The issue wasn’t created over night and won’t go away over night. One of the biggest problems between now and then is there are just too many classes.

One only has to look at events like Rock Springs Wyoming and Ottertail Minnesota as a couple of examples of Grand National events that did not last long on the circuit.
This premise of Dick's question is based on being midwest-centric.
For Eder, Biers, Mark Cole, even Benedict and Criswell, going to Langford would be a lot closer than going to Rockwell.

When NTPA has the meetings during Enderle weekend, and proposals are taken to the board, is it the NTPA Board who approves, or the WPI Board?
Also, when a Tech update is posted on NTPA's Tech Page, is that an executive decision of the Tech Director, a directive from the NTPA Board, or from the WPI Board?

sf outperforms nothing in any era! The fact you have to go back 50 years to compare a class shows what a joke it is!
I bet a super farm would outpull a 466 hot farm. No disrespect, but 174 ci difference is a lot to overcome.

A puller who would know much more about diesel tractors (and dump truck motors) that I ever will once said on Fonda's board a few years ago even a SS from the mid'70s on made more power than a modern SF. I'd think a 640 ci SF would make more power than a 466 hot farm. I'm siding with the

Well with the new Bud light announcement I don’t see INBEV investing anything into the sport . Not sure rural America is the market they are looking for anymore. Anyways, that was a sweet sled . If you saw it in person you will never forget it.
On the other hand, Dylan Mulvaney would be a natural spokesperson for the pro stock class.

If I could wave a magic wand and make one permanent rule change for single charger classes, it would be any tractor could run the fuel that it ran from the factory. This would be from hot farm up through pro stock.
I'm not sure when the diesel only rule came into being, but am under the impression Cespedes has a grandfather clause if he runs NTPA.

In Indiana, HSTPA ran what they called a "stock" class in the mid 1970s that was a forerunner of pro stock. The class ran at maybe 9000 lbs, single charger, definitely much more than stock.

In order to differentiate Pro Stocks from the other iterations (light pro/limited pro/ even the 5.0 Regional pro), should the Pro Stocks be allowed to run 30.5 tires?
That would add a visible difference from the other forms of Pro Stock. They certainly have the power to effectively use the 30.5s.
At that point, what, other than a single exhaust would distinguish a PS from a SS?

To me it just seems like organizations are just putting their foot on the neck of people innovating, investing their time and money and them being told - well, too bad.
Seems like this sport, as with any other Motorsport, you innovate to gain that competitive advantage. When did become such a problem? I refer back to the “woke” comments listed above.

Logan, I've heard the setting for a twd is about the same as for a 3-engine mod because of hitch height.
How does the sled setting differ between a twd/RN mod and a pro stock?
Would 30.5s on a pro stock mean only one extra block on the sled?

I'm not talking about Cain @ nearly same weight or East Coast where it's 9500 vs 10000 but not GN caliber Supers.
What I'm asking is a PS like Schmucker, Simon, or Conny @ 10000 lbs against Blackbourn, GALOT, Ross, Bone Twister etc. at 8000 lbs.

I was going to title this Pro Stocks vs Unlimited Super Stocks, but since there is enough data that diesel or alcohol are basically equal, we'll include both.
