I couldn't agree more, the PS class appears to have sufficient numbers now. I want leadership to sets rules that keep it healthy. Backing down on turbo size will in no way change what the fans are seeing from the stands. Unfortunately there are a few pullers in the class that cost is no problem, however there are some that don't have the resources to keep playing the

I say this not because another class is needed in addition to all the ones out there, just recognizing human nature. Someday soon a group will get together to start a new "limited" limited light ss class, maybe with a different name.
Weight will be between 5000-5500 lbs, one turbo, at most a 360 ci limit; maybe a 24.5 tire limit. When that occurs, we'll see how many AC 180s, Oliver 88s,

If you've never seen this class, it's like the extended wheelbase class back in the early 1980s, but in addition to truck bodies there are vans, I believe t buckets and maybe even a hearse (not sure).
Their class has at least 15 vehicles in KY and TN, maybe more. Is this a type of class that would generate appeal even to non-pulling fans because of the wide variation in the vehicle b

IMO the idea of DSS needs to go away and it needs to just go back to HSS, diesel and alcohol together. The focus needs to be on saving SS period. It is one of the foundational classes of pulling- it has the longest history and actually offers something different from the endless parade of single-charger diesels and blown hemis. Pulling as a sport should make its survival and

This is from another current thread and not directly SS, but if the pro stocks all dropped to a 5.0 charger, that would make the PS class less expensive and provide some differentiation with the super stocks.

I'm all for eliminating single charger classes but seeing as how there are tons of big pros out there lets not mess with a good thing. Get rid of the 5.0's and get rid of one of the light/limited pro stock classes. Gotta keep super farm.
I think the grand national circuit should consider replacing super farm with the 4.1s but I also don't think the grand nationa

Most motorsports have a minimum age limit for how old someone must be before they can compete. Should pulling also have an upper age limit?
We all understand some people start sundowning earlier than others. But.... some 16 year olds are more mature than others so if there is a minimum age guideline, what is the logic behind not also having a maximum age?
Asked another way, would you feel

How are the open/unlimited, diesel, and light SS classes looking for 2025?
Anyone retiring or moving out of the class?
What about new tractors?
For example, Adam Bauer got his JD DSS chassis. I heard John Raymond was moving out of DSS into alcohol but haven't heard if he's going into LSS or USS.
Any other super stock news?

Before all of the angst and hand wringing gets out of control, we can't be talking about a whole lot of revenue here. I couldn't find any records but I'm sure Nascar betting is a tiny fraction of what is bet on the NFL or college football. And tractor pull betting is a small fraction of what is bet on Nascar. Then people think that whatever money is left over aft

I'm not sure how to get accurate metrics, but this was sold as a way of getting more eyes on the sport. Here are several questions.
1) How many unique individuals are placing bets?
2) How many were not already following pulling?
3)Were financial inducements/fees or whatever is the correct term paid to the organizations (or individual leaders of organizations) to get them to agree

I voted for NTPA TWD. It's not my favorite class out of all the choices, but the rules have been stable with great participation. By any standard, the class rules have been a success.

Long list. I came up with 26 classes; their are others like 8500 466 limited pro like Illinois runs or the extended wheelbase SMFWD like they run in KY that weren't included
Out of all these, which do you feel has the best rules? (Note- this is not asking which is your favorite class. It's which class has the best overall rules package).

If the class is going to have a sustainable future, it should be agreed whether the class is going to be a 6500, 6250/6200, or a 6000 class.
Sadly, even this basic thing cannot really be agreed to among different groups. Once one weight is agreed upon everything else can arise from that.
Waiting for some group to come out with a "new" LLSS class with a 5500-5700 weight. Most other classes h

In the mid-80s, AC super stock puller Brad Howell was contacted by higher-ups from the manufacturer. His tractor was headed to pull at Elkhorn, WI.
They had a package for his tractor and they wanted the contents installed for the big Grand National pull. AC's factory was not far away and many AC workers would show up to cheer the orange tractors.
About that package: Was it a new pump?

No the same basic format has always been there. Only major change was allowing components, but things were on the current course long before that. The 680 ci thing doesn't help, but even if it were 540 or something, I don't think the costs would be drastically lower. I think probably the biggest thing was diesel supers getting more and more unreliable combined with t

Pro Stock were supposed to be a less expensive alternative to super stocks (like super farm was supposed to fill the same niche 20 years later).
My ? is: Were the original pro stock rules doomed from the start, or was there a rule change NTPA made along the way that facilitated the spending spree?

That makes sense. Personal relationships go a long way.

Most of the snow should have been melted for Louisville. Not sure about a Silverdome, Kansas City, or Iowa Unidome pull.

I realize your “start a new class” was being snide, but it really isn’t that bad of an idea. The jump from LLSS to LSS is HUGE. It is really a complete start over to do this. It seems like there is room between LLSS and LSS for another light class.
I'm not an Outlaws expert, but isn't there both a component LSS class and a cast LSS class that does what you sugg

Don't have a cow. I'm not advocating for the LLSS class at BG; if any classes were added I can think of 1 specifically I would add first, just had a hypothetical question:
Given that many organizations now run the LLSS class, if it were ran at BG, how many would likely show up?
(Again, we don't need snarky asides or discussions of pit space, etc. Start your own thread if you

With advances in technology, it would be nice if a manufacturer camw out with a new v8 for a 2wd row crop tractor. I would hope the weak links in models of decades past such as the IH 1468 would not be an issue.
