BOB announced no Mitas tires allowed in any class in 2024. Yes, this is one association in a limited geographic area, but often what begins in one place gets picked up in others.
If Mitas tires meet BOB specs, then what's the issue?

Alpha, I'm not trying to argue here, but maybe the class should go back to being a Regional class, if most don't want to travel to Hutch, Tomah, or Rockwell. National means you have to leave your home state/region to pull. I know the promoters of the above pulls can't be happy with the turnout, and if I were them, I would book a class that will support their "nat

1) Are the RN pros allowed to hook at BG? If yes, does anyone know if guys like Chris Cain or Ryan Walters plan to run there?
2) I thought I saw 5.0 PS results at some PPL Western Series pulls. Where does the 5.0 class run at the moment besides R2 and PPL WS?
3) What is the size of the spec turbo for the Outlaws PS class? How many Outlaws PS are there if everyone showed up?

This time of the year it is very difficult to get a decent turnout of competitors in a class with only a few vehicles in the class to begin with. Lots of fairs going on in August and that means a lot of venues wanting a pull. NTPA, OSTPA and PPL all have pulls this weekend that have the SSD truck class. Just be happy you got to see any of them

I would agree with a lot of that. One other thing I would ad is, pulling has this absolute terror about nitrous oxide. I have seen what blue bottles can do over on the drag racing side for diesels. Paired with common rail fuel delivery and standalone management, the clean-burning power scale is simply astonishing and not even fully understood yet. Straight up learning curves are bein

The big pulls like BG get good crowds because its an event. Its the place to be that weekend same way a lot of people watch the super bowl that have no clue or care about football. The same GN tractors run mid week at a pull and most dont care. Tractor pulling for most spectators is a once or twice a year event not a everyday following.

I still would rather watch a good group of farm tractors battle it out with a true weight transfer sled then watch a bunch of high horsepower tractors that have to start with pulling almost nothing to get going and then be slammed by a drop pan.
If you want to grow the sport you need to make it more relatable to people. 25 different classes of the the same stuff going

QuoteThe epicenter of pulling fandom is, no doubt, always going to be rural, middle America. However, the attitude that it will never be anything else, or will never have any appeal to urban or suburban people is a self-fulfilling prophesy. If you don't believe you can gain attention in those areas, you won't market to them, and if you don't market to them, you won't gain at

NTPA adopted this out of the blue several years back and it got rescinded.I believe Doug R. was going to do something similar with Outlaws.
Should this idea be revisited?
Another option that fans would love: Combine the diesel and alcohol classes.

Hypothetically- suppose the sport of pulling began this century instead of sometime in the 1940s/50s. One thing that is consistent is just like our grandfathers desired more power than a farm tractor (later stock truck) could provide, if the sport began in the early 21st century, by now imo somebody would be boosting horsepower and different classes would form (most likely).
So.... If pulling

Ft. Recovery is one of my favorite pulls, partly because they have possibly the best track for the unlimiteds, and great for other classes too. Having both Open SS and Diesel SS was nice to see also. The Ambassadors do an outstanding job running the event.
Excellent job this weekend Ambassadors, NTPA, and pullers.

NTPA just posted on their website they are rescinding mandatory pre entry for 2023, saying it was a "misinterpretation" of the timeline.
I have to ask: Is Karine Jean-Pierre or the Bud Light Marketing Department handling NTPA's communications this year?
How do you "misinterpret" requiring mandatory GN Pre entry starting in the middle of your season? That said, I hope both The Fort and

The GN pre registration is a good idea, especially if they have the functionality of NHRA's platform that shows the entries to the public in real time. It could help with everything from pit parking logistics to which classes to run on which track.
However, could somebody explain the logic in requiring this starting in the middle of the season? Somebody over there has challenges thinking

NHRA has done this for years. It's a good idea. One enhancement I'd make is to make the entries viewable to the general public.
Here is the link to NHRA's website. The events are added about 2-3 months prior so the October and November races aren't yet viewable. Click on any listed race under Entry Statistics and all entries from Top Fuel to Super Street are viewable in rea

This isn't specific to flo, just a general observation. Go to youtube, type in "Tomah 1990", "Tomah 1994," or "Tomah 1995." D2 Tractor Pulling Videos channel.
This imo is the absolute best vantage point to show a pull because it is the view as a fan in the stands would see it. Not every venue could accommodate this (these were shot from the stands), but for long standing pulls like Bowli

Totally disagree with changing the sponsors colors. That's more disrespectful than not putting them on.
Do you care to expand upon that? The sponsor’s name and logo is still getting out there. If there’s a John Deere logo that’s in white, silver, or grey, you’re still getting that brand recognition. I have seen several examples of such “color matching” and I actually thi

I heard an interview with DPS where he talked about taking over NTPA back in the 1980s. Not 100% sure, but I believe it was with the Beer Money guys a few weeks before Tomah.
If memory is correct, he recounted back in the '80s NTPA had Wrangler as a sponsor. That's a big deal for any motorsport. He said the Wrangler execs were dumbfounded when they saw track officials removing Wrangl

Not everyone has the desire to have yet one more app on their phone. It doesn't have to be either-or, they could have the app and still update the website.

At a local county fair when the promoter's brother in law Jim Bob announces for his one time a year, I would not expect familiarity with all the vehicles.
At a Grand National-level event, I would expect the announcers to be familiar, or quickly learn, which vehicle is which. Even at a large pull like Tomah or Bowling Green, there is not that much turnover year to year. An announcer should a

Sometimes pullers make plans but rules change or life happens and the plans fall through.
Does anyone know if pullers were planning on building something innovative but fell through? For example, I thought somebody posted that Mike Holden was planning on building a 5 allison tractor, but after 1991 NTPA lowered the weight. Did Banters ever have any designs for an 8-engine mod?
