Lots of variables with everything you said and asked about. Class, weight, speed limited or open speed, rules for said class or classes will determine where you need to go. The search function in the upper right side works great for what your wanting to know, just search key words to topics your wanting to know information about.

IHfarmer07 one Should never turn your wheels while the front is in the air. Grab steering wheel at 12 or 6 and never turn it anymore then can left or right without taking hand off wheel that will get you down track just fine. So not hardly past 3 o’clock or past 9 o’clock. If you start spinning your steering wheel while front is in air bad things going to happen when comes done soli

Pivoting axle is a little nicer in the pits/ off camber areas. But on the track I really don’t see how it would matter. A lot of extra work to make a front axle pivot. For what I would consider little to no upside on a dedicated puller.
Yeah, I’ve heard the draw backs of it twisting the frames, being hard on the engine mounts and such. I have a Schwartz front end I want to make s

What's everyone's opinion of rim width for a 20.8 X 38 BFG tire? 18 ? 20 ? 22?
18”-20”, stock width to 2” over stock works best IMO.

Your right. I guess ive gotten a little drunk on widened pulling wheels.
When I was setting up my farmstock I had the same question. It seems the common thing is to be 2" wider than the tires original rim recommendation, 18.4 on 20" rim, 20.8 on a 22" rim. I went 22" on my 20.8-38 BFG's and am pleased with the outcome, but have had nothing else to compare it to. Some

So what width of rim do you recommend? For both sizes?
Thats a preference thing to a lot of people.
I prefer stock size to 2” over and no more, it also depends on the type of pulling you do. When I did a couple sets for myself they ended up 19-1/2” -19-3/4” somewhere in there. Took one donor rim and cut both beads off as far in as I could and cut one side of the rim I was goin

1 to 1.5 million would be what a full custom pro stock is from Chaos. Someone informed me last year that El Nino was over a million…….thats just the tractor too, not to mention the toy hauler, maintenance. Dyno time is probably included in on the price as well.
Thing about Chaos is they have a lot of R&D with mainly Pro Stocks and I’ve seen posts on FB about how they have let those CNC machines

I checked end play with the dial indicator on the input shaft and pried the TA housing up and own through the trans brake hole. That gave me TA shim to quill. I didn't touch the input shaft while doing so to eliminate the possibility of the input shaft play affecting the ta to quill end play.
Got it! Thank you very much!

I still measure off the input shaft and pried on the TA housing through the trans brake hole. Just made sure the input shaft was seated so that play didn't affect the TA housing free play to quill clearance
Just so I get this straight, you made sure the TA as a whole was seated against the quill/quill housing, then through the trans brake opening you pried against the TA housing to

I called the guy who went through the torque and he told me not to worry about the shaft end play. As long as the torque itself is shimmed correctly it should be fine.
Ok cool!
So how did you determine if it was shimmed correctly? I talked to Karl about it and he said basically by feel, but now thinking about it, I might take the .073” of end play and subtract that from the .033” I ca

Did you ever figure this issue out, got my TA back and I’m having the same issue. No matter the shims I put under the quill housing, I can’t get rid of the shaft end play like I can on a new farm HD TA for farm use.
I can put shims under the quill housing where the input shaft won’t hardly turn but yet still have end play. Right now I have the TA in, installed without shims I had .073” p

Some friends of mine at a shop had one setup with the three bolts in the crankshaft and in the middle a 1/2” nut. I did this recently and it worked great! I took a moroso 18” degree wheel, 1/2” bolt with an adapter and the wheel and then a nut to tighten the wheel to the bolt, then tighten the bolt in the captured nut by the 3 bolt to the center hole in the crank and got my cam dialed in. Depends on ring/pinion, engine modifications like cubic inches, fuel, air, rpms and if its got a TA or straight shaft and tire size…..I think 34/39 would be good or even a 2.8 gear……again, it depends on a lot of what is done or will be done to it.

I agree Mo1466.
It depends if the 5x.031’s are dual feeds, then your way too big but you could still be too big single feeding also.
Do you have a lift pump? If not, I’m betting you may only have a standard stock pump calibrated and adjusted for a 13mm head, then you would be around the 280-350cc range, I know of people doing that and you can run stock lines and single feed injectors. If it
