Yes it will be out this summer on the ntpa gn circuit with its new owner david jones and myself pulling. It is a three into one turbo setup. I am also pleased to announce that Case IH global and Väderstad will be comming onboard as sponsors for the 2014 season. Väderstad has actually committed to a two year deal.

Actually that was the case until last weekend. The tractor has been sold to a fellow puller from the UK , David Jones. He currently pulls the Just Smokey alky ss. We will be teaming up this summer to run the full NTPA gn sso schedule. David drove at the keystone nationals for the first time last weekend in preperation for the summer. He will drive when his schedule permits and i will fill in for

The crew are doing some sightseeing in NYC and bram and manon are on their way home. I believe that they are a little dissipointed with their results. They are already talking about trying to come back next year for another shot at it. These problems happen. We fixed it and also my tractor. Both with small issues. Their crew made a great effort to do their best. It was not ready to run until we

I work on just about anything from trucks to tractors to gun parts. The trucks are street trucks( modified or restoration). Tractors are from antique to ss. Currently putting a large farmall m motor back together. I usally get into at least one tractor sheetmetal body a year( go from a roller to ready to paint). Past few years have been turbo plumbing setups for ss tractors or turbos and oil pan

It is always a very nice experience. I would go pulling or watching there any time. All of the events do a great job putting on a show.

Thanks for the kind words. I always like to be into a project. So far this winter will include a truck restoration, couple pulling tractor sheetmetal jobs, at least one complete hood and some other small items.
We did change plugs once too! Worked most of the time on other tractors while i was there.

I always like new challanges. If it sells then i will decide what to do and if not i will continue to pull with it and try new things. Been working alot on custom street trucks and other pulling projects. You never know!

Financing a pulling tractor can be done but its not worth it. I have sold one that went where it was financed. It worked out ok. Thats the exeption to the rule. Borrowing money to do this is a slippery slope. It took me a long time to make my way thru the ranks. Its expensive even if you do most yourself. I started out on a super m the to a 1066 then onto my current tractor. I was 14 now 31. It t

Most tractors in the class run water injection systems. Some do and some dont run intercoolers. The only time you get the large amount of white smoke is when it is cold. Its especially bad at Louisville because of the large door that is open to the outside. I have to check the computer data, but i dont think the water injection comes on till after the white smoke goes away.

They are not too bad to take apart. It would be best to have someone with you that has done it before. Basically take both end plates off, remove gears and spacers and keep them in order as they come out. There is a key on the center shaft to lock the small collars from turning. Drive roll pin in towards center of shaft and remove key. Really there are only two things to remember. Have the timing

I believe that it is a shame that they got rid of the v8 in lss. I can understand giving into class pressure to do it. They are the people that make it happen at the pulls. I look at it like it limits creativity. That is what draws me to the sport. You can try and develop ideas that you come up with. Running the same engine for 30 yrs is boring. Thats why i sold my 6 cyl in the first place and

Limits dont make classes affordable. Super farm is a great example. It really should be a class costing around 50k. It really is more expensive than prostock. Add up basically all the same parts and then add the cost of all the parts tried on the dyno along with its cost. If you make a class at a national level people will find a way to spend way too much on it. If u saw garden tractors at gn ev

That does not make much sense. We have antique and farm stock pulls everywhere. I have gone to many of them where there is maybe 10 classes with 20 in each. I have never saw 10000 people in the stands to watch that show. People show up at a grand national event to see the best equipment that there is available. We just have to understand that it is a limited fan base/puller numbers. Really the be

The drop hook can be looked at two ways. the way you see it as a way to drop your biggest screw up and continue. The other way is you punish the person who is consistant. Why reward someone for their screw up? It is kind of the good old boy way of looking at it. They only get 75 min at the drag race.
Class numbers are determined by number of tractors, association prefrance, payout ,time to com

I have built plenty of both tractors in various setups. You can not build a component as cheap as a cast tractor. Assuming you r building both yourself, the component still costs more. U need a lot of tools to build the chassis. Just the line up tools to jig up the rear are expensive. Mill lathe welder bender raw materials all adds up. shure you can use the tools again but u need them to build th

I ran into the same problems with Lsm cams and the tracking problems. It has been many years since i uesd them, so i cant remember all the problems. The story sounds similar except the money issues. Uesd their core. They machined the block and used their lifters and bushings. The lifters were good for about 10 runs then would break the rollers. Really they just were not heavy duity enough f

your biggest problem wont be the HP it will be the weight of the motor in a pickup on the street. It could be terrible to drive with so much weight over the front. it would prolly need to be sitting in the cab with you to balance out for street use.
