I do know what's wrong with it Hitchpin, but I'm not shopping, I'm building for a different class. The part that bothers me is that I know the Hootmans, and I have the utmost respect for them. I don't want someone to think they are getting a "Hootman tractor", be dissatisfied with it, and then badmouth Mark's good name. There's no one else who I'd want involved

Parts were brought to Mark, he assembled the bottom end, which I'm sure is meticulous, and then the tractor was hauled out and Jeff finished the rest. That constitutes a Hootman motor/tractor? Doesn't have Mark's mag system on it, his turbos or his fuel system. There were a lot of other hands in that tractor that were far below the caliber of Mark. So no, I don't consider it b

A bottom end built by Mark is far from being built by Mark Hootman. Jeff set the head and did the fuel and turbo system. That tractor would have run different altogether if Mark had built it start to finish.

You guys put on a great show. Quite a line up of Prostocks signed up. Well worth the drive from NY to watch and hang out with some great friends.

Any talk about if the rain is going to affect the pull? We were going to come out, but don't want to drive 5 hours for nothing.

Actually he's right Neil. They have a 410" cut off. Just pulled the rules up. Your combination won't be legal unless you're pulling 56 cubes out of it.

David, I know you guys like your diesels out there, but alcohol allows more guys to run. I can buy my fuel system and ignition system and still be cheaper than a good injection pump. I love the diesels, but can't justify building one at this time, especially since I plan to campaign an alcohol burning LSS in the future. Just makes sense to stick with what I'm going to run. I'd love

And David, please don't think I'm singling Badger State out, because I'm not. You guys are just one of the groups I've followed, and thought I'd pull with you at some point, but sadly I will not fit your rules.

I don't have a problem with the weight difference for tires. I know BOB is 6000lbs for everyone. I'm not looking to argue weight, because I've seen that thread here, and everyone gets all sensitive. I really do like the travel series for the LLSS , because it allows a bunch of tractors to move around the country and pull with people and at places they never would. That's my on

In NY we run SCWTP rules. 370 alcohol 3x4, 470 diesel 3x4, 315 diesel 2 stages, 410 diesel 3x4 I believe can run intercooler, 24.5 tires run 6500lb and 30.5 tires are docked 250lbs down to 6250. Decubing is legal as are air ride front ends. Heritage rear end, axle and transmission housings. Engines are heritage based except 5.9 Cummins can run in anything. BOB is a little lighter at 6000lbs, but

I just still don't understand...the fastest growing class in the sport, and no one wants to just run uniform rules so that everyone can play. Makes no sense to me. Your playground, your rules.

What's an honest weight for a complete Man Planetary? The aluminum set up must be pretty trim. Weighing my options out, pun intended.

Here's the other pic he sent me. These both were posted last year. If this is the actual seller, my apologies, but the grainy quality of the pics the person sent me, says they are just borrowed pics. I believe someone tried this with Tedder's Tire post last year. Just don't want anyone getting scammed and sending money if it's not legit.

Think we've got another tire scammer folks. Asked for pics and he sent me old fuzzy downloaded ones from a post last year. Asked for new current close ups and crickets. I have the exact pics he sent me saved from a year ago. Anyone remember who was selling these. I searched the username and no old posts.

20:1 in a LLSS, diesel? I know a few guys around here are under 17:1 in LSS.

Yep. It was on schedule until the horrible accident took Sr's life. It's only a pulling tractor. A lot has been dumped into Jr's lap. He'll be back.

Just curious for future reference. What is the absolute largest Bore that you can squeeze into an IH 360 and still maintain block integrity and stay out of the holes for cylinder head bolts? Either Ag or truck block. Just brainstorming here waiting on trucks to show up on the job. Idle hands...

Neil, my understanding is, the most consistent diesel down there is only running a 3x4. Old Rags just plain runs.

I think this is a very example specific issue. I'm not sure what engine and rods you are speaking of specifically, but I know there is a huge difference in 7.3 PMR rods and those in the 6.0. 7.3 PMR's are rated cautiously at 400hp before you need to be careful, although with very conservative fuel on the bottom, they can live up to 600. 6.0 rods are all PMR from the factory. This entire

Yes. You can put an ag head on a truck block, or bolt the newest dta 360 truck head on an ag block.
