I was just wandering if there were any new rules changes for '10 regarding drivers having to have their face shields down. I fully understand it is minor and might be nit-picking to some, but I was thinking I heard some talk on here after the Wilhite explosion in Alabama last year. I was thinking it was going to be mandatory for all classes just like a neck brace and drivers would be penal

Justin, Your quality of work never ceases to amaze me. As a early 30-something dad who made many of those for pullers while I was in high school and younger, I greatly appreciate your talent, accuracy, and enthusiasm for building pulling vehicles such as what you have posted. I can honestly say in my humble opinion, via the pictures you have shown on this site, your personalized "home-made" fin

Are we really saying what was branded a Cat Challenger, now an AGCO challenger, was really considered a 2WD tractor just because the front wheels don't pull? I honestly don't know if that was a joke or not. If we look at all the industry data that has come out since the creation of this machine and retail to the ag market, it has always been listed in the 4WD section. I have never se

Sully you are hilarious. It reminds me of the whole Tiger Woods issue. The only reason why we stopped hearing about Jon & Kate Plus 8 is because Tiger Woods went on the "prowl." You cracked me up with your post in the middle of another ridiculous Outlaw SF thread. Keep up the comedy.

007, You certainly hit the nail on the head with this one. I do not live in the area, have never been to an Outlaw pull, nor do I have a dog in the fight, but truly you can count on the Outlaw soap opera to come after ever season. It has become predictable. Who's fault that is? I do not have the slightest clue. The pullers all need to be locked in a room by themselves with their board a

I certainly am not any sort of expert but did spend a number of years in an implement dealership as a parts person. To my knowledge, the 855 was never used in a row crop or front wheel assist tractor. Rather it was only used in the four wheel drive applications. As mentioned, the Steiger line, Versatiles, Ford, New Holland, I believe some Allis 4WDs (could be wrong on that). I apologize if th

That's a good list of row crop or FWA tractors, what about the 4WDs? Would that come into play in the game of pulling at any time? If I remember correctly, that 8.3 made for all CNH tractors was a special engine made for them by Cummins. I always heard it termed the "Case Cummins" at the dealerships. If memory servies me correctly, there really wasn't much that crossed over from the

Let's do this, so we don't get the RLF and E.L. haters all in a feeding frenzy, lets give credit where credit is due with the competitor and the tractor. But let's look at the whole at the scenario that it is a diesel vs. alky. To me, that is what is really cool. I know I have not been around "modern" pulling all that long but the LSS class seems to be where machines from both s

Patrice, If you ever decide to change the hood, I vote for making some sort of Super MTA Diesel hood, keeping the dual stacks of course. Although it would never happen and it sounds far fethced, I think it would still be cool to see. It would have to be stretched in every direction and may need to use a W-9 or 660 as a pattern, but way cool. Good project to get ready for Henry next year..haha.

Lenny, I have to admit I am a little disappointed in your ingenuity. I can't believe you aren't using all those dirty diapers your daughter is producing. You have your own factory right at home. If they are anything like my 6 month old son's, there is more noxious gas available and more powerful than anything you can buy off a shelf. You need to make that IH like the delorian

I just wanted to make a real quick comment about this tractor and driver. I hate to admit this, but I didn't realize this tractor is still going down the track. I think it is really cool because I remember the driver allowing me to hop in the driver's seat at the state fair once he got it loaded after the show. I remember he was one of the only guys that stuck around the show because

I don't know for sure, but would this be an area where guys are filling the liquid cavities of blocks full of concrete? I only ask because I overheard a guy in the stands say that is what some of the super stock diesel trucks are doing. I do not know if this is gospel or a bit of BS due to "excess liquidation" of the speaker.

I have to admit that only after viewing a small class of invitational super stock diesel trucks on two separate occasions, that I am really becoming a fan of them. I have seen them twice now at Henry and have been very impressed. I have to admit, I am not a fan of the 2WD or other 4WD classes around pulling as I am just more of a tractor guy. That is not to say I do not appreciate the travel,

After reading the below posts about who the best past and present drivers were/are, it got me thinking about class domination. Has there ever been a specific machine that when it arrived at the track, the other competitors knew they were fighting for 2nd place because they already knew who was going to win? I would like to think on a grand national level more than anything because I think regio

I was just wanting to throw a question out there regarding some Moline tractors that I have seen in the past and what they may be doing this year. Are all the Hulls and Mark Colberg gonna stick closer to home this summer and run BSTP or has there been any talk that they might venture out and hit other NTPA or PPL pulls around (down towards central/north-central IL)? This is a good topic but I think everyone's answers will depend on whether they have only been exposed to only local & state competition, regional, or grand national level competitors. For myself, up until early 2000, I had never been to anything beyond a county and the IL state fair. With that being said, the names that stuck out to me were "Black Savage" from the D&R stable in Hoyleton a

Pink pedal tractor? Doubt it. By next year he'll have one of his 'tiques painted pink, he'll be dirving, and she'll be strapped to him in the baby packpack telling him left or right. Women learn to be backseat drivers aweful young...lol.

Something is not right about that engine combination. The YouTube video is from last year where he lost the entire engine out of the frame. This incident just looks to have splits the block...again. Those are too many wild rides too close together for most drivers I would say, let alone in a pocketbook.
