There is one for sale currently here on pulloff. I did an advanced search for farmall 560 and it pulled right up. He used a HX 35 Holset Super drag turbo. Perhaps you could call him and find out more info.

I would think that one would be easy to find with black paint!!! But more likely it will show up wearing brand new paint, so I hope you have the SN or other definitive markings on it. Good luck to you finding it.

I don't have direct answers to your questions, but I can say that I have seen a 706 gas with a straight drawbar, 15.5's on cast centers, dual PTO and basically farm ready pull in the 7500 class, even with calm-shell fenders. I need to get my 706 across the scales sometime, as it is the same but without a TA. I figure it would make someone a real good start to a puller!

The DVT 800 (as used in 4568, 4586, 4786) is prohibitively heavy, and notoriously a POS. Give it a try, but I doubt you would like it!

Well I'll be darned! Did they have a substantial rain delay? Or was the rain not that bad and they could pull through it?

I assume they got rained out, as it is raining here as I type, and it was coming from that direction. If someone was there can you confirm this? Is there any plan s for a make-up pull? Thanks!

It surges until it gets loaded, and sometimes will back off even under load, which is the bigger problem. I put some wire on to support the spring, and that seems to help. When I had the throttle hooked straight to the carb, it would rev to the sky. I have been having trouble getting a working tach hooked up that goes past 2500, so I am not sure how high it was going, but I had no control over

I should mention that I have Pertronix ignition on it, if that matters any.... Obviously it is too late for this weekend to buy a limiter, but I will look into that. But at $200, it is not real cheap.

Heartland pullers lists it as Sunday starting at 1pm. But it seems to me that it always started at 11am in the past years. Not sure if they just pull local classes until 1, or if things have changed this year....

I run in a 3000 RPM class, and have pretty much maxed out at 2600 using the governor. At that setting, it tends to surge easily if reved up too quickly. So I unhooked the governor, but it now revs very freely. Is there a way to limit how high it revs without the governor? It seems there is an MSD device that does this, but I would like to have it done by this weekend and it is obviously to

Hmmm.... Thought for a minute I was posting in my sleep, as this is almost the exact question I have been wondering! But I did find a truck head that is supposed to flow better. Now my question is will it make a difference at 3000 RPMs and stock 301 cubes? This head is supposed to be off a 306. Not sure what age or type of truck had that engine.

You won't save over a hundred pounds or so per side, unless you go with clamp style hubs (assuming you are talking 3-1/4" axles). And the 66's were available with clamp style hubs, in case someone nit-picks originality. Save even more weight by using the 8-hole hubs as found on early 706's.

sdangus- do they ever let the puller re-pull if you shut them down? Or is your authority to call them un-safe final? That could still be tricky, though, letting someone re-pull if they went out of control once, they may well do it again. Or maybe learn from it and make a solid run???

I am thinking of putting the 460 on a diet to make 4500 pounds. To start, I need to lose 700+ pounds. I have pressed 18.4-34's. I know I could lose maybe 200# by putting 15.5's on, but that would be a disadvantage traction-wise, so that is a last resort. I have the stock horseshoe drawbar, which is getting replaced in favor of a simple adjustable hitch and wheelie bars. I doubt I save o

I appreciate the help. Might see if I can fab up a hitch that doesn't require removing the PTO, though. But I think I can see the basic idea of how the pro's do it, and that helps! THanks again.

I am wanting to put wheely bars on my 460, and I have an idea of how to do it, but it won't clear the stock horseshoe drawbraw.... So does anyone have an idea of how to build some that will clear? Or ideas on a custom pulling hitch? Specs on metal thickness would be great, as would pics. Thanks!

You still never said what age is considered antique? Or if a 15.5x38 is allowed? I wouldn't mind trying my 460 on blacktop just once.

Low Budget Puller is on the right track: if you want a farm class, make a too hot class for the rest. Typically pulls run either 18 or 20 inches from axle to pulling point on hitch, and 20 inches high. Some require two of the three (3-point, hydraulics, pto) to be there and working. I am against requiring a 3-point as I have an 806 row-crop with factory 3 pt delete.

RedBone: That is why it is a speed limit, rather than a gear limit. That Fendt has a MPH guage in his tractor, too, so he can keep it under teh speed limit the same as the rest of the gear drives. That issue has been brought up in the past regarding IH hydro's.

My cousin has pulled his 966 with stock wheels (18.4x38), wide front and fenders in 9500# class. Strip the fenders, put the narrow front on, use a lighter seat, and possibly make 8500. Use a fiberglass nose and strip the rock-shaft, easily make weight.

What weight are they gonna have for the 360 cube turbo's? Sounds like it could be an interesting class...

htpa.biz has all the classes. They have just about everything. If the sled doesn't break, they can get through it in pretty good time though. You are allowed two hooks per tractor. Good group of people.

I have two primary issues with setting a gear restriction: first- you assume that every tractor is a 4020. Granted, they make up the bulk of that class, but you cannot tell other colors to run the same gear if they have a completely different transmission. Second- it is not too difficult to change the speed of a gear. I know for a fact that I can make a gear that is supposed to run 5 mph move

The rules??? lol, if they had stone-set rules, then I would tell you! That is why I said, "can we really call them cheaters?" When someone is winning because they have big bucks stuck in an engine, someone is gonna whine....
I know torque is king, that is my hesitation on the 9.0, though I think it would have the most power "out of the box", without much tweeking. Plus I know where there i

I am looking to build an IH Naturally Aspirated tractor, as the class currently is dominated by green, with a couple off-colors thrown in. My initial thought was an RD-501 into an 806, but my hesitation is that gas tractors are sometimes restricted due to a couple cheaters. (can you really call them cheaters?) Anyhow, the next logical engine is the 466, as it is readily available, and easily mo
