Re: Kimmel canned!!! - 8 weeks ago

Yeah, lots of vile people getting fired for a lack of basic human decency. The bigger problem is there seem to be more and more people that approve of the killing and have no value for human life. It's not a fringe group... its far, far, far to many on the left that are filled with: hate, venom, and vitriol. Remember when late night shows actually told jokes? I don't think the le

Re: Charlie Kirk killed - 8 weeks ago

Just because someone writes and article doesn't mean it's true. I remember seeing articles that said the COVID vaccine would stop you from transmitting the virus. Gov officials ran with it and the mainstream media ate it up. Yeah, that was absolute trash with no scientific backing. Violence from the "right" or "left" depends on who's putting people into those categories. Mea

Re: Charlie Kirk killed - 2 months ago

One more thing... when people on the right commit crime and violence what's the reaction? The overwhelming majority on the right denounce the violence and mock the perpetrator. There is seldom celebrating and if a fringe group does it it's immediately denounced. When Charlie Kirk got shot there are reports that leftist at the rally cheered! Sick. Truly sick! Re: Charlie Kirk killed - 2 months ago

The mass shootings in schools... seems to be mostly trans whackjobs on the left. Kirk's killer was either left or anti-Christian (but I repeat myself) since Charlie talk politics and faith. Is the right crime free? Of course not, but it's disproportionate. Any guesses who commits most of the gun violence in this country? Any? NRA members? Not a chance. Legal gun owners? Not

Re: Light Pro - 2 months ago

QuoteMG1206 Light Pro is the most exciting tractor class to watch by far, they turn RPM’s, carry the front ends 2 foot off the ground the whole way. The cubic inches isn’t stupid big. It’s the best single charger class going hands down! Numbers in the class aren’t lacking out east, they are slowly growing out this way. Could not agree more. The best single turbo class there is.

Re: Iowa state fair AgLSS - 2 months ago

Shaun, Great post, I agree with you 100%. Follow the rules. My problem is with the stupid and inconsistent rules. There's no logic in making rules in either class that make it so a LLSS isn't legal in LSS. Make consistent rules that allow for upward mobility. This sport lacks logic with far too many decisions.

Re: Iowa state fair AgLSS - 2 months ago

I watched Tom Urmson pull a 1468 in the 5500 Superstock class as a kid 40ish years ago. Surely with Carbon Fiber and Titanium and all the other advancement we've made it's easier now days. I'm by no means saying it's easy, but teams like Ulmers have proved that you can do it if you really want to... and with a diesel!

Re: Iowa state fair AgLSS - 2 months ago

This topic points out the complete absurdity... idiocy... stupidity... of the rule making process in this sport. A Limited Light Super Stock should ALWAYS be legal in a Light Super Stock class! You should ALWAYS be able to jump up to the next class. It's these types of inconsistencies in the rules that are just ridiculous.

Re: FREE Live streaming! FREE! - 3 months ago

While you guys are arguing about magazines you all seemed to miss the important part that Sascha wrote "they made the decision to live stream all their events for free on Youtube". This is long-term thinking. This is how you grow a sport for the future. Easy exposure. A subscription based system ISN'T about growing a fan base.

Please don't close topics. I don't care what the topic is (even if it's bashing me or this page), just let it run it's course. The only reason to EVER close a topic is if it's getting spammed... if that's the case you can close it temporarily for a short time then reopen it. I appreciate people trying something new. Kudos to the Simons for thinking outside the box. This will be interesting to see how this works out and if it can be a sustainable long term model or if this is best as a stand alone event.

Re: FYI, 20% of DSS already scratched - 3 months ago

So boost is the ONLY variable? I don't think so. Sure less boost could be a choice... so is timing, so is water, so is compression ratio, etc... There are lots of variables that could be changed to dial them back a little. Also, yes guys with less boost still break... so do bottom feeders in a class too. Everybody breaks on occasion, I hope we all understand that. Reliability is a choic

Re: FYI, 20% of DSS already scratched - 3 months ago

That is EXACTLY my point. If there were pulloffs the teams would be forced to tune them for multiple passes in a session. Instead they can tune them for One & Done because there is no "threat" of a pulloff at most events. Teams would tune different if the focus was on longevity. With One & Done the focus is on burning them down to win with one monster pass and then see if you can fix it in the

Re: New here - 3 months ago

1000% Go to the pits! For me the Pits are every bit as fun as the actual pull. I'd say 99% of pullers are awesome to talk to. Obviously if you try to strike up a conversation right before a pull you might not get the best response but If you get there early you'll have a ton of fun in the pits. I've learned so much talking with pullers and crew over the years. I've got

Re: FYI, 20% of DSS already scratched - 3 months ago

Eliminating Pulloffs has consequences. It's not been good for this sport and it's been really, Really, REALLY bad for the DSS class overall. It's a funny catch 22 that the class is in... a tight sled means they only have to run once, but a tight sled makes this class look even worse. If you know you'll need to run twice in a session you'll tune for more reliability.

Re: Tarps! - 4 months ago

I guess that would be up to each promotor, but I'd rather have the tarp under the sled at the starting line and run a 300-320' track. A 300' track is better than no pull at all.

Re: Tarps! - 4 months ago

It's just a simple variable that they could have done a better job monitoring and controlling. This isn't a new discussion and it isn't a new topic for the sport and this also isn't just about Tomah... this is about tarps in general. Also, side note: I don't play Major League Baseball but I know tarps work there too... and there are times when they cover the field in

Can someone please explain to me why this sport hates tarps so much. I'm not talking about putting multiple tarps on the track so there are wet spots between the tarps so the track is inconsistent... I'm talking about a single large tarp to cover the track. Major league baseball can roll out a single large 170'x170' tarp in seconds. Why can't the MAJOR events like Toma
