Re: Iconic Pulling Vehicles - 1 year ago

I'm surprise the Green Monster of Art Arfons hasn't been mentioned.

Re: Site is blocked - 1 year ago

On your phone or PC? I'm using Microsoft Edge on my PC to post this message.... you need to remove the "s" from https in the website address (it should be http). As a side note: I'm only using Edge to test this site... I use Brave as a browser and you should too.

Re: ? for pullers: Do limits cost or save money? - 1 year ago

I'm surprised there aren't more comments on this. This is one of those things that people always say when they are against a limit on something that they already spent money for. Good limits save money. Bad limits (rules) cost money. Overall I'd say limits save money though.

Re: How many 5.0 Pros in the U.S.? - 1 year ago

First, I'm not saying or imply that the 4.1 class should go away. If you reread my response to Craig Ladwig I agreed with him about his comment regarding the 4.1 class being at the top of the food chain for non-component classes. I think that's a great spot to be in for the 4.1 class. That should be the goal of the class... top of the food chain for the fans that still want to watch

QuotePuller. Jake, As a dedicated 4.1 puller I don't really care for the way you seem to be putting down the 4.1 class. Where did I put down the class? Where did I say anything negative about the class? Where did I disparage the class?

Re: How many 5.0 Pros in the U.S.? - 1 year ago

Craig, I totally agree with your premise IF the 4.1 class stays Ag chassis. My question is more if the guys clamoring for components get their way... then what niche does the class fill?

Re: How many 5.0 Pros in the U.S.? - 1 year ago

No, that doesn't tell me what roll they have moving forward... that's just a number. It's great that they have good numbers, but that doesn't tell everything about their future. I remember when Super farm was by far the biggest class... 4.1 took away part of that Super farm niche. I think 5.0 will do the same to the 4.1 class. Are 4.1s filling a horsepower gap? For exampl

Re: How many 5.0 Pros in the U.S.? - 1 year ago

I'd expect that number to grow by at least 50% in the next few years. Honestly I'm not sure what role the 4.1's play now that we have 5.0 Pros. Some of the 4.1 guys keep clamoring for a component chassis, so my question is why have a 4.1 class? I guess I'm just confused at what niche the 4.1 has now.

Re: trouble logging into pulloff from Anroid - 1 year ago

I'm no tech guru either. Google is forcing ALL websites to a secure protocol. I'd love to switch the website over to https but that takes time. I've got tons of projects going on and very little spare time. I'm hoping to make the switch at some point but I have no idea when. Until then people will have to just work around it.

Re: The HTTP vs HTTPS Problem - 1 year ago

Currently... Chrome on the computer works fine if you bookmark the page with HTTP instead of HTTPS... but it doesn't work the same on some phones with the latest update of Chrome. Yeah, it's a bit a a annoyance... but it's a super, super, super/easy workaround.... use Brave, Chrome is crap and unsecure. When the workaround is better than the stock browser it seems like a no-bra

Re: Can't access pulloff on Chrome? "404 forbidden" - 1 year ago

I don't use Chrome (nobody should because of Googles lack of privacy) but I did just download the latest version to test this morning. It AUTOMATICALLY added the "s" to the address and I got the 404 error (you have to double click on the address to see the "s".. I removed the "s" and hit Enter and it AUTOMATICALLY added it back in again! I did it a third time and it finally worked. (I

Your post is pretty vague... what exactly does it say? What error message are you getting and does it give you a warning screen (something telling you that you are entering an unsecure website)?

Re: NTPA LSS goes to 6300 lbs????? - 1 year ago

I'm with LSS fan... the weight should be lowered, not raised. A 6000lb. class would be great. Lighter weight makes it more about setup and driving. Heavier weight just becomes a horsepower race. Sadly horsepower is like crack or meth for pullers, there's always been more focus on HP than there has been on setup. Don't get me wrong, HP is great but I have huge respect for those

Re: Can't access pulloff on Chrome? "404 forbidden" - 1 year ago

As Bryan said, some browsers (especially Chrome) add an "s" to the web address. Certain browsers automatically put: https://www.pulloff.com but it should only be: http://www.pulloff.com/ It's a really minor thing, but it's causing tons of problems. There is no "s" in the address. If you remove the "s" the page will load normally. My advice is to bookmark the page without the "s

Re: Another declared war started under Biden - 1 year ago

QuoteTripleAlphaProcess Ukraine and Russia have been fighting for almost a decade now and the Israel/Palestinian conflict goes back to 1947. Sure, there has been conflict, that's not the point and you know it. The point is that WAR started under a feckless and weak US leader. WAR was specifically started during the Biden regime because the rest of the World knows he's a joke. Quot

Re: 4.1 9500 - 1 year ago

So why did the non-component classes grow so fast this past decade? There are way more Light Pros and 4.1's than Prostock now. There are way more Light Limited Supers than Light Supers... probably more Light Limited Supers than both light and heavy diesel and alcohol superstocks. Harsh reality is never pleasant, but the component classes are NOT the classes that have been growing the pa

Re: Historical pulling question - 1 year ago

Roll cages were very late 90's (maybe 97), not the 1970's. My best guess would be the mandate of wide front ends... maybe?

Re: 4.1 9500 - 1 year ago

Sorry to say this, but when they switch to component they should also switch to a 5" charger and completely eliminate the 4.1" class. We don't need a 4.1 and a 5.0 that are both component chassis classes. Sadly, knowing how this sport loves to create new unnecessary classes they will probably make a 4.55" component class for a few guys that want more power than a 4.1 but don't want

Re: NTPA new web site - 1 year ago

Two quick things: First, if my father had to call the NTPA with every complaint he'd never get off the phone with Gregg Randall! Just Kidding. I agree with my father about the NTPA reading this. They all read the page. They will see this and I'm sure their web designer is already working on a solution to some of the issues. Second, I like the new design. Has it got glitch

Re: I'm getting a NOT FOUND when trying to view this site. - 1 year ago

Yeah, I'm working on making the website HTTPS rather than just HTTP. I'm not a web designer and I won't bore everyone with the details on the change but it's simply Google trying to force the internet over to the HTTPS protocol. The "S" stands for Secure. Secure websites are fine for sites that have important personal data like credit cards or social security numbers but I

Re: John Young's front tire - 1 year ago

This isn't about preventing every incident. Everyone knows that isn't possible, and that isn't what this is about. This is simply about preventing a known issue that has happened countless times. This is simply about implementing a known solution to a curable problem. Accidents will always happen. This accident happens repeatedly and when you ignore it that is negligence.

Re: Mini wreck at BG - 1 year ago

I'd counter with... Have you ever seen a chain break? It can be uglier. However the sport still uses chains... we just make sure they are properly sized. Also, we're talking about a 3-4 foot (maximum) section of kinetic rope... not a +30' rope doing a huge recovery. Stretch is usually 25-30% so minimal stretch... one foot of stretch would probably be the maximum. It's n

Re: Mini wreck at BG - 1 year ago

I'm starting to think having a kinetic energy type rope as a second hitch could be an interesting option to absorb some of the energy for something like a mini that has tight space constraints. They make straps that can pull out a Steiger and straps that are designed to pull out UTV's. I think it's a viable solution that would help absorb some of the energy.

Re: John Young's front tire - 1 year ago

Yes, it was addressed, but it's still happening. It didn't solve the problem and they refuse to act. Honestly, it make's it even worse... the ski bars prove that the organizations know it's an issue. There's no possible way they can plead ignorance. A lawyer will ask if they knew...clearly the answer will be YES. Then he will ask if the ski bars solved the problem...

Re: BG the good and the bad - 1 year ago

IH 5488, Totally agree. Once people start acting like the pull was/is perfect then why bother improving since it's perfect already and there's clearly nothing to improve. As for the sled resets, I didn't think there were that many and I didn't see them as a real issue. They want to have the best show possible and the closer you try to get to perfection the more minor twe

Re: John Young's front tire - 1 year ago

Well said. It's a known problem and the sanctioning bodies refuse to act. That won't look good in court when it does go poorly. It will also won't look great for sanctioning bodies when the lawyers bring up the fact that there are already engineered solutions out there that could have been implemented. I hope it never happens but I fear that it's inevitable.
