I’m sure this has been discussed somewhere here but can’t find the answer. Does a 466 out of an 8820 combine have the big bolt pattern or the small? Want to use it in a 4320 or 45/4620. Serial R66466A293997. Should be crank driven oil pump? Thanks for the help.

Will a 55 series head bolt on a 40 and 50 series block? when did deere change from cam driven to crank driven oil in the small blocks? 40,50, or 55 series? Is there an advantage to buy a 7.6 block or an older block if you can bolt a 55 series head on either? thanks

This is going to be redundant to alot of guys on here but i dont know alot about the differences between the 466 and 7.6, I know 55 series heads flow better but whats the difference in the 466 and 7.6 blocks or iron sets? is it like the BBJD where the 40 series had cam driven oil pumps and arent as good? When did the 466 come with the p pump was it after 55 series? Thanks in advance.

I drive a 92 Pete with an early 60 series. Very reliable and very few problems. Over 1 million miles the main problem we just had to fix in the last five years was the cam and crank sensors, which we did ourselves. I would not be afraid to buy one if its been serviced regularly. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the info guys working on a budget and dont want to piss money away on parts that arent right or the best option. I see there is a 50 series head for sale on here. If a 70 series is better than 50 stock i am assuming after port, polish, big valves then a 70 series will still be better than the 50 with the same work? Besides REI who else is the best for BBJD work? Thanks

Was wondering what the best head for a BBJD is for a 640 CI Pro Farm 3000 rpm motor? I know the 50 series are better than the 30/40 but another guy said dont waste my money on a 50 series buy one from a 8770? Any ideas or thoughts on flow and casting numbers that work best? Thanks!

I am building a Big Block JD for a 640ci Pro Farm Class Want to know what to do to trans/planetaries. I have seen guys running planetaries off of JD Skidders which i was told sped them up? Dont know if i need to do this or if i can get the speed out of a 3/4 speed trans? I talked to a guy pulling at the local fair, ITPA pull, a couple of years ago and he said the slowest gear he pulls in is road

Speed limit classes may evern the field but my opinion is that they arent fun to watch or listen to the sled blowing the horn half way down the track. Farm stock is easy- working pto, working 3pt if available, limit rpm, cast centers if needed limit turbo. my 2 cents

I pull and plow with a JD 4320. I change the front tires and weights to plow with it. When i had the pump rebuilt I had them leave it adjustable so I could still plow with it and not melt it down. If you dont believe me I have video of me doing both on youtube under my screenname- rt52town

It is hard to tell with the blocks in the way but there was a simliar problem At the Grundy County Fair with an ISP flagman DQing a Pro Farm tractor, Brian Colberg that didnt go out either. Everyone that was on the inside of the track could see he didnt go out but the flagman who stands on the left side as you go down the track DQ'ed him. I think you can look at this two ways 1 Flagman are l

I agree with the things brought up as well but being a flagman it is very annoying when the pullers dont get lined up when there class is up or they dont pay attention to when they are up to pull and they are running back to the vehicle while everyone waits since they had to see their buddy pull. Or they are not in order which happens more in the stock classes by us. It the show is to run smoothl

I was on the board of directors for 2 out of the 3 years of a term and found out the sad truth about teching vehicles and friends on the board. Basically i was trying to do the teching by the book since i was a new director and there was another director that would let things pass for his truck and his buddies. I think one major problem with rule enforcement is the people that are supposed to tec
