Hi,
I, too, am a bit angry/disappointed with the media.
One has to be careful when talking about the "numbers" during this outbreak.
Example, "The number of cases in Nowheresburg doubled overnight... And everyone thinks OMG that's terrible! What they don't tell you is that Nowheresburg had 1 case
and it "doubled" to 2...
Also, when talking about death rates, people are usin

Hi,
Amen, brother!
I also believe (and have for decades) that the sanctioning body is about the competition and the promoters take care of the "show".
I cringe every time I hear "it's all about the fans"...

Hi,
Jake, I agree.
I've been saying for years that it doesn't make sense that I can't take my new farm tractor to the county fair and pull it, because it has a factory intercooler and electronic injection...
To not allow the modern tractors to pull would be like going back to the 1960's and banning those "new-fangled turbo supercharger gadgets" and to this day only pulling

Hi,
An LSS puller told me they should have put some weight on the front of the pan, to keep the hook point down on the ground.
The pan was lifting up and the tractors only got bite/loaded the motor when the box came forward enough to push the pan back down.
He also said the track got packed pretty tight from the Super Farm class that ran before the LSS.

Hi,
Check out "Whatssmokin Promotions Super Stock Collection" on YouTube.
They put up a bunch of videos, 1991-1999.
Mostly from Illinois, but also some from Kentucky, Missouri, and Wisconsin.

Hi,
In keeping with what "5288" suggested, how about this:
For the 2020 season, the NTPA runs the alcohol and diesel Super Stocks at the same time, in the same "class", on the same track, and with the same sled setting.
But, they keep the payouts and points separated.
This way, the fans will see all of them run together in the same "class" but the pullers will still get the $$$ and points for

Hi,
Just thinking; If an event chooses to have pull offs instead of floating finishes, what if the pull offs were put at the end of the event? In other words, run all the classes and then if there are any pull offs, do at the end. It would give the competitors time to cool down and return. It would also give more fans a reason to stick around to the end. I know there are some sled oper

I also heard that one of the featured acts is going to be a pair of sisters calling themselves... (wait for it) ... the "Minnie Mo's"!

Hi,
Just a few random thoughts: inspired by questions asked of me over the years, by people not totally familiar with pulling;
Back in the day, there were different weight classes within the same category (5500 SS, 7500 SS, 9500 SS). Some brands were more competitive in the lighter classes, others in the heavier classes. Why did pulling go away from this?

Hi,
So, you mean to tell me that in the modern era of pulling, with all the technology we have today, that no one bothers to find a "zero" mark for the sled?
It does make it confusing for the fans.
Throw in a few too many beers and some fans will start talking about rigged pulls and cheating track officials and your event gets a bad reputation.

Hi,
After reading these posts, I have a couple of thoughts.
I agree that an easier schedule would be a good thing. Give the teams some time between hooks to keep their tractors on the track. That would also allow for a better points race and an incentive to stay in the race. After all, NHRA doesn't schedule the Funny Cars to run 3 times a week, the Top Fuel cars once a week, and th

Hi,
Had a good time, once again.
It was plenty warm/muggy for the afternoon show but it cooled off a little for the night session and there was a pretty good crowd.
WGTP had a good turn out and a good show.
Lots of "color" in the Antique and Farm tractor classes.
Of course, the orange ones caught my eye, like the D19, 200, D21 and 210 in the night show.
The D21 and 210 were especially nic

Hi,

I think the first post, by DR, hits the nail on the head.
It's the width that makes more difference than the circumference.
If your normal 24.5 is 23 inches wide and someone makes a tire that is 25 inches wide (per the rules), your tractor is grabbing 4" more of the track than the other guy.
When you measure the difference in circumference, on a

Hi,
What kind of cleaning solution/solvent do you guys (and gals) use in your parts washers?
I've used the water-based stuff in the past (not real impressed with it) and am using kerosene now, but was just wondering what the best/most popular stuff is.

Hi,
I went to the Prison City Pull Off and had a good time.
It was another good show.
Tough break for G Force...
And for the orange roller/packer... Oops!
Congrats to Justin H. for his winning run on Taking Care Of Business (after Aaron H. thrashed to get the pump off the MM1000 and onto the TCOB machine)!
The pause to watch the fireworks helped build the drama before that final pass.

Hi,
Does anyone have a copy of the original NTPA Wild Rides, Wrecks & Fire video?
I see that volumes 2-5 are available at the NTPA store, but was wondering if a copy of the original (volume 1 ?) was floating around somewhere in tractor pulling land.
I'm looking to buy a copy, or I can make a copy and send your original back.
Thanks!

Hi,
The red light/green light snafu was the first thing I noticed when watching the video.
And my reaction was... Seriously!?!?!?
In this day and age, after 45 years of organized pulling, no one thought to make sure that both lights could not be on at the same time?
Moronic, simply moronic.......
On a more positive note, would it help to have a third flag man?

Hi,
Isn't it about time that Tractor Pulling started phasing in more modern technology, like what is on the current OEM tractors?
At least in the "stock" classes?
It seems like most all the new tractors are going to a high efficiency, smaller cubic inch, turbo charged, intercooled engine with electronic fuel injection.
It's kind of lame, to think that I can't take a new, comp

Hi,
The video is actually of his second run.
He was first puller and had to turn it down because he drifted to the right on that run, too.
Shut it down right where the concrete barrier starts.
And, it wasn't just Dave that got off to the right that day.
A couple other higher-powered tractors got pulled to the right side.
Just glad he is okay.

If he is serious he must have slept through every science/physics class he ever had.
There is little/no comparison between a pulling vehicle and a drag car, or air ride truck, or motorcycle.
The only thing that could be said about drag racing and pulling is the goal of getting the front wheels off the ground so
