I don't think any other factory crank will fit. 404 & 466 are the same stroke & I don't think the new metric engine cranks will drop in. I don't know about the metric cranks for certain though.

WIZ,
Please educate me on how these new govenors work. I need to clarify that I'm talking about mechanical injection pumps, not ecm controlled unit injectors or even a mechanical pump with drive by wire throttle. I know that anything can be done with an ecm.
The engine requires less fuel at no load, so your comment about not dumping fuel until under load doesn't make sense to me

That is one of the arguments I was referring to. I've often heard it, but honestly question it.
Eric, have you personally seen this with your own eyes on either a tach or datalogger? I'm not talking about a spike after dumping the clutch or shifting the ta, but actual significantly more RPM's all the way down the track till the pan drops. A govenor is a mechanical device that

I believe the latest version records the entire run which can be reviewed if there are any questions. I highly recommed this over the simple 'red light only' boxes. Those have started as many arguments as they ended.

What good is points payout if it comes from the pullers? That's no different than playing cards in the hauler or like the stimulus checks that the government sends everyone - just a money shuffle. IMHO if you can't raise at least 1/2, preferrably 3/4 of your points fund from outside sponsorship, then there really isn't a reason to have a points fund.

No, I actually kind of like it. At least you have an idea if they are in contention for the lead. With the changing camera postitions it's hard to have a reference otherwise.

I don't know if it's hardened or not for sure, but I guees it's a good possibility. Yes, it's made basically the same as you described except it has a cross hole thru the heads with a piece of round thru them to properly orient the grooves. That way it can be used on different bore centerlines.
I'd put them so the non grooved side takes the load as the cam side loads

Sounds like you have Crower SB Chevy lifters. 0.842 bore if I remember correctly. Crower sells a tool that you put thru the bores in pairs & run a drill bit down them. That leaves the half round 'broach'. Works fine.

Related to SB & BB Chevies the internally balanced have all the required counterweight on the crank & thus the balancer & flywheel are neutral balanced. Externally balanced (OEM SB 400 & BB 454) do not have enough counterweight on the crank & so some has to be put on the flywheel & balancer to bring the assembly into balance.

They are over 100% when you figure ambient air into the blower, but the blower compresses the air which makes it volumetrically smaller. For example you could have 1000 cfm into the turbo at atmospheric pressure, but something like 400 cfm at 40 psi & a much higher temp. I've never bought an intercooler, so I don't know how they rate them, but the volumetric airflow thru it will be le

At 100% volumetric efficiency & 640 CID, 1000 CFM would support nearly 5500 RPM, so that should be plenty.
