This response is to gonh and others who think similar to that.
If you think there is an easy solution to overproduction, then you must be a University economics processor or someone who thinks the same as they do.
Our problems start with out of touch corporate giants who think it is easier to deal with a few producers rather than many. They want everything from a chicken or beef or anything

Having troubles with my timing being off each time after I start the tractor. I can time it that 36° then run it for a couple minutes and after I shut it off it is at 50°. The pump gear is not slipping. I believe maybe the crank gear is slipping. What is the best way to weld the gear to the crank. How do you take the oil pump gear off. Is the only way to take the crank out? IH 466

I think the originator of this post had a legitimate question. I think there are fellow pullers who will be kind and share information. I would like to know the answer also.
Not to be a smart ass, NOT everyone goes to a Dyno. Some of us would rather keep a few extra dollars in our pocket versus spending $1000 that a Dyno. Not all of us have that mentality to win at any cost. Weather it is spen

Good post Loren. Look at all the positive Outlawa are doing. If you don't like going someplace that has hundreds or thousands of spectators, a nice track, lots of safety people, a big screen, get paid well if you do well. I have a big wheel loader you could come and hook to and pull on a dirt road if you want. I'll only charge you $20.

V8 cat - 6 years ago
I bought a GMC 7000 Topkick that has the V8 cat engine in it. Debating whether I try to put the motor in my international L110 pick up truck or in my superstock tractor.
I have no experience with either one. Anyone have any recommendations for me?

Finally got back to this project. Thanks for the help. We figured out it is a 310 crank. Can't find a good 358 crank. Was told the Pistons measure the same. Can we just switch out the rods and use these pistons? Will they have the correct compression ratio? Or is this not a good solution?

What do you call the "timing gear", Do you mean the idler gear that meshes the crank drive with the cam gear and Pump gear? If it was incorrect, wouldn't I have bent push rods from the valves hitting Pistons by now?

What is the stroke of a 310 and a 358 I will call the shop that polished the crank and find out what it measured.

Deere puller, according to your formula it would help make the class more equal with a longer chain and less angle, correct? Seems to me like a easy solution to lenghen the chain for the light class. Is it very difficult for most sleds to do that?

First of all I have only seen pictures of their housings, and have not talked to him personally about this. I am not claiming that I know all the facts. That being said in my opinion he just removed more than others out of his housings when he put in the aftermarket transmission. The rules were very vague as to how much of your housing you could remove to put in these transmissions. I have s

I am very impressed with the amount of research and development that Doug has put into this subject. I agree that the class has to be made as equal as possible if they want to keep tractor numbers. We are on a bit leaner budget for our tractors then some are. We put together a tractor for this lss class last year and pulled with you in Wisner last August. Your research made me curious so we we

Depends upon what pump you are trying to run. If you're running a M 100, I would use a 5X18 or 5X20. If you're using a p pump then run a little smaller injector. It is harder on a M 100 to try to push fuel through smaller nozzles. Just my 2 cents

I totally agree with Twister 07, very well put. As the rules are worded, these tractors are not in violation, by my interpretation. If they are, then all with profab, or similar transmission, are also in violation. I have seen the pictures, yes they went further with removing more cast then any I have seen, but how much is too much? When the rules were wrote, what was the Intent? Most of the rule

Why is it people hide behind other names? Maybe they are embarrassed to let people know who they are. If you have something stupid to say, I guess hide behind a different name. Both organizations have their pros and cons. It is unnecessary to bash the other group. Good luck Pullers, have a great season. I hope the fans get a good show every night I see the real pullers are not afraid to sho

Make a difference what ring gear and pinion you have if 13-49 then direct is your best bet maybe one over, 16-49 better have a underdrive gear, one under if you have to run stock rpm. Always best to run directly if you can.
