depends on rpm,, if ur running open rpm's,,,that engine will run very well at 22 to 24 degrees,,provided that it has a working intravance timing device, which is 14 degrees,.if ur rpm is limited to 3000 mor so,,,you may want to run about 20 degrees,,,, ever engine has its own sweet spot,,but those numbers will make good power,,, been building those pumps for 30 plus years,,,many strong ru

you need to get the advance back in the pump,,set it at 22 degrees and it will run fine, your running far too much timing ,,and they will start hard ,,hot or cold,,,,,,, your robbing urself of power and smooth engine operation by not using the intravance, scheid is a fine shop,

your best bet will be to start at about 22. that seems to be a nice place to start and many engines run great there,,,,,since ur not going for high rpms,,,and the rpm,s arent much more than stock,,,,u dont need a lot of advance...it should run fine at 22..23...the factory advance is 14 degrees on most of those pumps,,,

depends on the builder...and the head. we have tried the ground cams ,,not much gain in my book for the money,,,,a good pump,,,330..390cc...delivery valve makes the difference too,,we build 13 mm,pumps,,let me know if we can help

most ag, applications have a 14 degree intravance .. some trucks had 6 degrees but more lift
