Re: Oliver 88 135gk - 1 year ago

Re: Oliver 88 135gk - 1 year ago

I have a better option than a 135 Waukesha. An 8.9L Cummins would be a much better starting point. I have one that was a factory natural gas for sale.

Re: Diesel waukesha info - 2 years ago

Yes they made one in that cubic inch neighborhood. They are hard to find and main bearings are expensive. Different is expensive. The Cummins route is less expensive and the parts are more readability available. I try to apply the KISS principle to any builds. KISS stands for keep it simple stupid. I've been down the oddball expensive route and it's not worth it. The only thing that kno

Re: 310 waukesha - 2 years ago

You'll need to buy a custom piston. If you're spending the money on pistons you might as well go bigger. 4 3/8" seems to work well.

Re: Roll cage builds - 2 years ago

That wouldn't be SFI approved. 2 inch diameter .120 mild steel or .095 chrome moly tubing is the only approved material for the cage hoops.

Re: Building a John Deere 404 - 2 years ago

Sell the running 404 and buy a core 466 or 7.6L. You'll be way better off.

Re: Which "farm stock" rules tend to draw the most entries? - 2 years ago

10mph, 3000 rpm, and 11k, 12k, and 13k pounds seems to draw large numbers in NE Iowa. No need for pump, cube, or turbo limits with that speed limit.

Re: JD 7.6 Structural vs. Nonstuctural Blocks - 3 years ago

The nonstuctural blocks came in power units and early 8000 series tractors. I'm guessing they probably came in more applications but this is what I've seen. The nonstuctural blocks have the oil cooler on the injection pump side and also have the water pump mounted directly under the injection pump.
