Any recommendations on tooling to do the machining? I have the Crower tool for putting in the slots. What is the best tooling to get the bore ready for reaming to .842?

I have some experience with the 341 used in the early 4020 and 105 combine. You definately want to girdle it and I wound up tying the girdle to the top part of the block after cracking one 3/4 of the way around. The extra mains also provide more material connecting the pan rail to the top of the block. I didn't find the 362 to be readily available, so I can't say if that block is st

Has anyone had trouble with cam bearings in a SBJD & if so what did you do? Has anyone pinned them thru the oil hole? Is there room to bore the block for needle bearings?
Thanks,

This is from another forum I belong to. I haven't tried it yet, but want to look into it.
When I had my automotive machine shop I really became sensitive to carb cleaners and solvents and decided to try something else. I went to Lyn Distributing in North Salt Lake and they suggested this I tried it and was amazed. It is a bio-degradable soap and I mixed it 1 gallon of Super-Sol to 4 g

Karl at Atlas should be able to set you up with gears that use the 4430 (underdrive) input gear with new planet gears and new output gear to get an overdrive that is about half of the jump that the factory setup has. I know he ran several sets a few years ago.

I suspect it's from MSD as they used to build stuff for the Buick V6 & have discontinued much of it. I bought magnets and they guys at work waterjetted one for me.

I have a 4 disc, 11" Crower in a 3010 clutch housing, so I'd say you should be able to put just about any 2 disc or most 3 disc in. I know the housing overall is longer than the 4010 but I've never measured to find out exactly where the extra lenght is.

early 6000 is about 33:1 & late is 30:1 All had SOS tranny's.
I'd think that a SOS 4000 would be in the same range & cheap if you come across one.

Several of the local fairs around here run farm stock classes. The rules are pretty simple. Each class has a weight, tire size, & HP limit. No cut tires, clevis on drawbar, they may require high idle with some % of factor rating & that covers most of it. They hire a local dealership or repair shop with an M&W dyno to check those who place. HP limit is generally 1 HP for 100# ie 55 HP for 550
