Are there are any other clubs running similar rules? I am trying to find more places to pull.
Thanks

In western Pa, a few of the clubs have started a Light Tough Farm class, with rules as follows;
1) 7000 and 8000 # classes.
2) Diesel 360 in3, rotary pump, 3LM466 turbo (5.9 Cummins 12 valve allowed), 3000 RPM Limit
3) 18.4 x 38 tire max, no cuts
4) Safety rules, wheely bars, blanket etc.
Are there clubs in the surrounding area that run similar rules?
Thanks

You might want to attend the NATPA pull after Thanksgiving in Wauseon Ohio, NATPA has a website that will give you the schedule for Friday and Saturday. You will see many of Michigan's best tractors at this pull. And can probably make some contacts to answer some of your questions.

There was a study many years ago done by HotRod magazine, two gasoline engines, same displacement but different bore stroke ratios, the HP curves were nearly identical.

That was interesting, better than watching TV, the steering clutches on the crawlers was a good idea, the old JD crawlers we had were a pain to fix. I wonder how well the gearing held up?

Looking for assistance, again
Back to the same Oliver 77 motor, I installed the 1800 oil pump last year and ran it all summer and oil pressure was definately better.
I decided to pull the engine and take a look at everything again,
Everything looks really good (Pistons and rings, camshaft and lfters, cylinder bores etc).
The crank bearings look good, except it is obviuos that some dir

Thanks for the feedback, I will pull the plunger etc and inspect the parts and the port in the block. I received the 1800 pump earlier this week, and I plan on going through it before I install it in my motor.

Thank you for the suggestion, and I have replaced the relief valve spring, plunger and gasket, the old plunger was worn so it needed to be replaced. My issue is the engine loses oil pressure after it runs long enough to get good and warm, I am using the old Oliver gauges, so I do not know the actual value, but it is much lower than my stock Oliver engines.
Thanks

Hi Cody
Good point on the camshaft, and I wasn't sure about the oil pan depth.
Is the 1555 pump different than the others?
Thanks

To Oliver Engine Experts
I have a bored and stroked Oliver 77 engine that has always had low oil pressure. I recently replaced the main and rod bearings, and checked clearances and did not find anything, but the oil pressure is still low.
I have heard that it is possible to modify a gear pump from a 283/310 engine to fit the 77 motor and supply more oil flow with resulting higher pressure.

I am going to pull our Oliver 77 in the new NATPA D2 top cut class (4000 thru 5500#), I have never runs cuts before, any idea if all were equal (hitch etc) how much more weight to run on the front? Any other suggestions or comments?
Thanks

Another option is to turn north from St Rt 422 onto St Rt 19, just east of I-79, this will take you to Harlansburg PA which is the intersection of 108 and 19, then turn left (east), and follow the directions above to the fairgrounds.
Also beaware that the ramp from I-79 south to 422 east is closed, so if you are headed south from Erie way, it would be best to get off at Slippery Rock and use 1

Getting closer, I found push rods from an Oliver 1600 that are about 1/2" longer, I am also getting the stands cut to align the arms and lowered to help with the geometry.

That would be too easy, and I still would need to find a good rocker shaft.

I agree with your comment on the geometry, this has not been the "bolt in" solution it was supposed to be, I hope it is worth the time and effort.

I couldn't find a good used rocker shaft for the 77 and decided to go with the JD rockers with a new shaft made by Brad Gray, he opened up the holes on the stands to fit the larger shaft. My pushrods are the shortest ones in the parts book, hope to find some longer ones in the junk pile, might decide to shorten the stands as well.
Thanks

After looking through the online Oliver parts manuals there are a couple of different length pushrods used on the Oliver 77 and 88 engines, has anyone tried using other Oliver pushrods?
