Are you running stock tank? If so you may need to open up the breather hole on the cap some. This bit me once.

If anyone from the video production is reading this, could you please leave the audio alone and let us decide if we need to turn down the volume or mute it. Was disappointed with the fort video. Quality sound is more important than video Thanks!

The Espar Hydronic (now Eberspacher) in the current Van Hool's are the best and most reliable heater I've worked on yet. My experience with Webasto was with older units, and the Pro Heat X45 was a step up, has integrated diagnostics. I like the Pro-Heat, but honestly have much more issues with the newer 2015-2017 units in J's. I'd pick Eberspacher - Espar or an older Pro Heat.

Does anyone on this thread have any parts for the Toroflow? Know where the dataplate is on the engine? Not even sure of the CI yet .A friend has one in an old uni system, and has a dead cylinder. Either need to find a parts source or would someone be interested in the engine if it had to be repowered? Thanks much!

Thanks for the replies! I should have been more specific about the Genesis setup. I already have what 7040 stated, but my old balancer is done now. So I'm looking for options to replace it.
Used - Spend $ on 50 year old rubber that might do same thing??
Reman - Company I found no longer doing larger than auto size dampers.
New - $$ is so much that's why I'm asking if any afterm

Best of luck Chris, if you can figure a way around the Roots and just run on the turbo's.......

The HEUI version had a timing sensor in the rear of the front cover. Sorry, it's been awhile but I think access was above the water pump?? Maybe your cover has a blanking plug there?

Jim, Have you had any issue with the rtv holding the coolant? Any certain rtv? Was thinking of doing same deal with the 7.8 w/ gen head, but reluctant.
Thanks for sharing!

I think 330ci it would allow MF318, IH312, Allis301, Ford304, JD329 i dont know about other brands. I am a cummins 5.9 fan and if it is 360 it would be very difficult to get anything to compete against it and stay together.
Would love to see that super tough 5.9 go up against a Brent Long DT

What's out there as far as a damper for a small nose 6 bolt Genesis crank (same nose dia. as 401)? I'm still using the 8000 cast front bolster, so O.D. is limited. Max. rpm will be in the 3.5-4k range.
On a 7.8 with a 401 front cover - Has anyone found a front crank seal that fits the 401 front cover & 7.8 stock crank/damper without machine work? I haven't taken the time to se

Shurflo pumps - I use System Accessories from Acworth, GA. It's now called smallpumpstore.com. Call Art or Joey. 877-917-1199. I've only use 600cc but no issue at all. I did the math years ago, but now forget what it could supply. I think it was in the 750 range. mine are 1.8gpm, so if you do the math, let us know

Awesome job Fred for posting on here and for your design skill! I am a nobody in this game, but have been around the sport for a long time and been a CMV tech all my career. With respect to the real professionals in this sport, I will keep this short. I also apologize, I don't care enough to be up on the latest "rules".

Sorry for the low performance question, but am sure someone here knows the right answer. I'm doing a reman to a "late" 270 and the rod bolt torque spec. is about 15 lb. ft. less than the "early" engines. My reference is an I&T manual and JD is not my specialty. Does anyone know if this is indeed correct or perhaps a misprint? Thanks!

Call Art or Joey @ System Accessories. 877-917-1199. Get model 8000-643-210 set @ 35 psi. Run high quality oil in pump and change every few runs. Cheap insurance as it's only about 14 ounces I think.
Get an inexpensive ag sprayer strainer @ tank outlet to catch anything major. I use 5/8 od nylon air brake tubing to shurflo, then 1/2 od beyond on pressure. Get a filter head for a FF105 and

Assuming it's a Simms pump? Is Jim OK with 10 psi? I've always ran the Shurflo bypass pumps @ 40 psi. 10 gives no room for error and are you checking it at full load, is the volume there, where are you checking it? Are you allowing some return? To me it seems silly to try to run the pressure that low. A shurflo is only about $150. As far as timing, my genesis always loved 35 degrees.

Remember to "keep it simple". An engine is just an air pump and that does seem like a high number when comparing head etc. to charger capability. Old textbooks call the cam the "brain" so is it moving the right amount of air at the right time? Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback folks. I'll stay away from Tisco. Some of the Reliance parts I've used came marked as Power Max .
Are Power Max and Reliance definitely separate companies? Reliance has great tech info on their website but I can't find much from Power Max.
Thanks again.

I have a custom "little" Holset that was made for this. Is bigger than the stock 3LD but smaller than a 3LM and custom made for this setup. It will come alive way before the 3LM will. I may sell it at the end of the year but not for less than 1k. Have run it on several different 401 to 456 setups with excellent results.
