I am a puller. Run 3 different tractors in 3 different classes. And several of the pulls the promoter has the sled operator stop us in front of the audience. Last pull that was around the 240 to 260 mark. Audience doesn't want to be looking at the back of the sled when it stops. If longer distance is what people want then the location and promoters need to move the audience further down the

My JD tech manual doesn't mention anything about serial number breaks and the local JD store wasn't any help. KTA can you clarify on the serial number break and tool selection? I worked on them back in the 80's. But time has its own delete button. My throw out bearing measures 5 5/16" from the housing surface. And 1 1/8" travel on the piston. Based on that the clutch I took out w

My 4430 tech manual doesn't say anything about a serial number break in the traction clutch setting. But it seems to me I remember some thing about different settings. But it's been 30 plus years. And what's the story concerning small and large pistons. I don't recall that.

Have tractor split for clutch update and pto delete. Removed entire pto except the clutch stub shaft the traction drive shaft runs in. Removed pto brake piston and internally plugged the pto brake tube from the clutch valve housing. Checking the ground drive clutch piston by applying air to the test port I can hear a small air leak in behind the the clutch piston housing. Is that normal? Or is th

I tested the traction throw out with low air pressure by applying it to the clutch pressure test port . Started at zero and slowly raised it. It did extend with about 50 psi +/- I believe it was.But I can hear a small air leak in behind the clutch piston assembly. Is some of the clutch oil bled off for lube purposes other than the lube circuit? Thanks

The ratio will probably work. Depending on weather you use bearings or bushings. How well you keep the load balanced as you rotate it. Will it hold the load? Depends on how strong the gearbox is. Not the ratio. The 75 to 1 ratio I would think is enough to prevent it from "free wheeling " as the load goes over center. Keep in mind. The balance on it changes dramatically from no engine head present

For tractor size engines you want to be around 100 to 1 gear ratio. Sounds like a lot. But I've used enough and built some to know. Last one I did I used an assembly from an old farm elevator crank unit. That was about 40 to 1. Not near enough. Had to add chain and sprockets to get it close to that 100 to 1 area. As I recall the "Revolver" Owatonna tools makes is about 96 to 1. It's wha

Sounds like it will be offered to hopefully bring them over. As I understand it the 3000 and 3200 will be kept separate with each their own rules. No mixing 3200 into the 3000. If a 3000 wants to up it 200 rpm and go to the 3200 they can. But will be going against P pumps and cut tires.

Need to remove the 3 point/drawbar yoke from under a 4430. Have the draft shaft out. There is a spring pin in the front attachment point. The parts book shows the spring pin, a bushing and the pin that holds the yoke in place. Does the spring pin go thru the bushing and pin? Can't drive it thru. There is no hole on the other side. How does it come apart? Thanks
