The soap makes sense. It immulsifies oil. Basically means it surrounds the oil particles so it can be washed away. That's how it washes your hands and clothes clean.

Is there any particular reason Deere didn't use the heavy duty 2 bolt 1 piece rocker shaft clamp in the center of the assembly on the 40 series 466 engines?

When I was a repair tech it was easy to determine horse power. Set up the dyno as needed. Run the tractor at a specified rpm. Pull it down to a specified rpm. Read the dial, gauge, display depending on age of the dyno. That was the horse power. My question is: modified engines running hundreds to thousands more rpm where do you start at and what rpm do you pull down to? How can all these differen

Just pulled the other night with a drop pan sled. At first they tried doing it like the bigger tractor classes dropping it after the box was up. Same situation as mentioned earlier. Every one was stopped in the same spot with their front ends in the air. So they added weight and dropped the pan very early. That worked good.

I have commented on the drop pan cleated sleds. As mentioned. They don't work well for lower horsepower classes. Having 2 sleds isn't always an option. I would prefer to see the sleds built with the cleats on a hinge setup that could be flipped out in one direction and a smooth portion flipped in from the opposite direction. Done correctly they could be changed little time. Could even b

I'm no expert at building tracks. But as a kid when I was pulling the one track I knew that could be relied upon every year as being good and hard, but not too hard, and standing up thru out the whole day was a once a year used thing where they just scraped off the grass then started watering and packing with a sheepsfoot. And that was usually done for 2 days at least. Most people agreed it

I'm sure I read a forum where this topic was the item but can't find it now. I have read a lot of things and ideas about how to run a show and make it more interesting, less boring is another way, of saying it. But of the major items is of course keeping the show going with minimal lost time. But one thing I see at all pulls that I haven't seen mentioned is the amount of time it ta

Can some one explain the differences between an Ag late style JDSB 466 and a late style JDSB 466 Industrial P pump engine? The industrial has the 48XX bolt pattern but all the frame bolt holes are 3/4" if that helps any. So far I haven't been able to locate any information using the info on the engine. It appears bigger just looking at it. Thanks

The pulls I, and the other competitors I speak of, don't have tractors that go 20 mph or more in our classes. Guessing the vast majority are running under 10 mph.Just local small town and county fair type things. I understand the need to keep the show going but the pulls I compete in have most the competitors running similar to me. It's just a local small town type of thing. And people

I'm only commenting on the light farm stock classes. Say perhaps 10,000 and under. Maybe 9,000 and under. As stated earlier. 150 horse power or less. Maybe just 100 horse power or less. Apparently some one didn't see that. I realize the need for heavier classes and high horse power classes.

I speak from over 30 years of experience of pulling farm stock tractors. Not that it means I'm right or wrong but I have seen the sport grow from the days of when guys stepped on the sled as it went by up to what it is today. Pulling farm stock all these years I feel I have learned a lot. But the one biggest things that I don't like to see at a pull as a competitor in the lower horse po

There are a lot of pulls (not NTPA or GN or Outlaws but the smaller some what local) going on in the SW Iowa NW Missouri, Western NE area but have 3 or 4 different associations governing them. If they could adopt a common set of rules every body would win. The owners would have a lot more pulls that their tractor/pickup would qualify for resulting in more pullers showing up for the same pull. Th

30 some years ago I saw similar thing happen to a 4WD alky modified. The box didn't start till he was half way down the track. Then kicked in. By then his ground speed was very fast and people were waving etc at him but he didn't see them. Box hit the front so fast and hard that the sled hit the back of the truck so hard that the drivers seat broke off and bent the motor mounts. Luckily
