7500 na / keeping up with mm - 15 years ago
while watching videos on a illinois website, and at pulls it seems like the only tractors pulling in 7000 and above,in a modified na class is molines.by viewing these classes it appears that plugs are normal in diesel heads.i would think the mm advantage is mostly cu-in,and that the hd-800 is popular.in a 7500 wt class has a 5010 jd ever been tried in this application,on gas of course,or a 2255 olby patches - Forum
Re: JD 329 - 15 years ago
looked at a friends 4030,the head is a crossflow, but both intake manifolds are cast to the head.are you guys machining the as cast manifolds off and using a fabricated manifold.looks like it would be very hard to improve intake tract as cast, other than extrude honeing them.by patches - Forum

Re: I love sparkplugs...thay cant stand spark plugs - 15 years ago
yea,a 4010 diesel is big enough in your eyes, but a gas isnt.how about a case 1030 or 970,both plug ignition.this isnt a mm rule its discrimination against gas or propane.how long would it take for the ps class to boot cespedes out if he ever bacame competitive more often.by patches - Forum

it looks like there is some interest in "the good old days" of pulling.is there or could there be a section on your site for historical purposes, say to load old pictures and some of the stories that go with them.and at bg ive asked a few of the blue shirts, that where in the museum,if any old video from the early years at bg was available to purchase,i never got a good clear answer.surely the blueby patches - Forum

on of the tractors was still complete a few years ago,was in museum at bg a couple times.im sure someone on here khows were it is stored at currently.its got to be worth the drive to view it and take some notes for your retro build.im sort of a history buff, and have always thought it would be neat to have a "pulling tractor" hall of fame,no drivers, just pullers.the allison team would definatly beby patches - Forum
Re: anyone familiar with"solid junk" mm - 15 years ago
eric,i dont belive that solid junk ever was at the museum, the tractor your refering to was the allison team mm.it is a ub special with a allison.that ole ub looks huge with the v-12 and 30.5 bfg's on it.ive always wondered how well the transmission and rearend held up at 12,000 lbs and that motor in front of it.by patches - Forum

i have been looking through some old pictures and magazines, while studing quite a few pictures of perry and stangles "solid junk"mm super stock,i have been wondering, how in the world did all of this work?im sure there is someone out there who knows something about this tractor.i have always wondered if all these hoses funcional or was this a game to be played with other pullers?also if the tractoby patches - Forum

Sorry no sister.... But you know that for a relationship to work there has to be some compromises... You have to find a girl that likes the things you do, but in the end you also have to do things that she likes, even if you don't always like them... This is how I have been married for 16 years..by patches - Forum

Wife's viewpoint of a die hard puller!!!!! - 15 years ago
I am the wife of a die hard tractor puller... When we first met and started dating the only way that I could see my now husband was to go with him.. This made for some very long days, nights and weekends. He pulled an antique Oliver 88 and if anyone has gone and I am sure you all have, they are the longest pulls in the world to sit through and video tape, escpecially when you really do not knowby patches - Forum

i don't see the difference ,wouldn't the aftermarket block be a reproduction, able to receive the manufactured crank, cam, and head bolt pattern.it would also have the manufactured deck height, and cam and crank centerlines.my son runs a pro-stock gt,the gt world went through this block deal probably 10yrs ago or better,at first it was probably a 50-50 on prefference.now there is less thanby patches - Forum

i've thought that for years.i would enjoy a gas tractor, and i dont want to be in line at a pump shop.i think a competitive fuel system could be made rather inexpensive out of a jegs or summitt catalog.by patches - Forum
old time stories - 15 years ago
While we are on the subject of passing things down from generation to generation.. There has to be hundreds of great tales to be told.. it's a 2805.i belive carlton built most of the frame and chassis himself.it would be nice to see another brand be competitive.it seems a lot of people get caught up in the green-red thing, and will never cheer or support another brand.myself im a fan of tractor pulling,i dont care what brand or who's driving,im just grateful to be able to view are great sport.....GO CARLTON !!!!!!!!!!!!!by patches - Forum

Sascha, I have a couple of questions for you... 1. In Europe for the EU Cup, how is qualifying, does each country send a team for each class? 2. Can you travel back and forth between countries with your tractor like we can between states? 3. Do any pullers use any, what we would call, off brands such as: a heston same, or a belarus? Thank you, Patchesby patches - Forum
