Due to a stress fracture in a bridge support, the bridge will be closed indefinately. Ky traffic will need to cross at the I-65 bridge and proceed to the bypass returning to I-64 West, 4 or 5 miles north of the river.

LaGrange is at 22 mile marker, on I-71, north of Louisville, I-71 south of Cinncy----easiest way for a truck/trailer in is to take Exit 18, Buckner Exit, if comming from Louisville, turn left at the bottom of the ramp, go up about a mile, cross a single rr track, and turn right on KY HWY 146, the fair grounds are about 2 miles on the left, right past a hugh state prison---- IF COMMING FROM CINNCY

The Claas team has a single, twin and triple allison combinations, Old Spooke stated a few years ago, they were trying to get to 4000hp per motor, using the single as their "on track" dyno---several other single allisons over there are stout, BLACK GOLD for one, as well as an allison "long ton" mini rod---they are serious "beautiful noise"!

Can be done, I'd check with some the participants from Gordyville, (see links, events, Klint's website) to share both good build ideas, and I'm sure a few failed experiments, to quide you along the way. A local 1030 470cu in 3000 rpm tractor in KY is very competive, and adds color to the 10000 Hot Farm class--photo is of a similar tractor, if not too large to post!!

a five or six disc clutch modifications seems to handle about 150hp per disc ( 4 primary disk, 2 pto clutch disk), in applications I'm familiar with. Those mods do take some machining modifications for the stock divider plates. I've seen plans for an 8 disc unit, with about a .750 increase in total unit depth for the clutch, but that clutch could well overpower an upgraded two speed u

Thanks for the shouts, Sullivan's was pulling one of their twds with a 6x4 at their pull SAT, also had a late model Gator 4x4, probably towing anything over 6000 on a reg basis would be expecting too much!!

Easy challenger----a Badger 640 pro-farm might take you up on that---and their little 20.8's might spin past you're 24.5s!!! Nothing I read on here said a 466 hot farm (3000 rpm) could torque or hp with a national level super farm---,but super farms seem to have difficulty consistently repeating performances, as gear selection and balance are so important to match a sf's power/torq

Let's see someone show some dyno results showing a 3x3, 466 p-pump open rpm tractor making 500 or 600 hp at 4500 rpm---to support the laughing at someone claiming over 850 hp at 3000 rpm, if he wasn't that strong, he needs to find another pro-farm hot farm builder---looked at a 466 dyno sheet yesterday, over 1100 hp at 4450 with an S400, 1600 pounds torque, but at 3000 rpm, still making

Several pullers still use 531, see Middle Tennesse website from links, Green Fever runs in 540 class, and is strong unit. The 531 is just dimensionally the same block as a 619, and 619 are used in multiple ag and construction vehicles, i.e. 690 jd excavator. The heads, especially early 531 and even 619 heads (8630) are not as well flowing as the 8650 heads. Seldom see a 414ih or 436ih pull (sa

See previous recent post, 6-7-8 mph works best for all power of pullers, 10mph and 12 mph classes will allow the higher powered tractors to shine----expecially at heavy wts, a farm stocker can't pull a sanction sled 10 or 12 mph!!!

Although it would be time consuming to tech in a very large class, what size charger do you guys thing would be a good max size for a farm stock, or near farm stock classes---2.5 intake; 2.75 or 3.0 out? or is that too large a charger to be effective? With hot farms at 2.75 and pro-farms at 3.0, they are making big hp!!! I was just wondering if a 2.5 or 2.3 intake charger would have much of a li

Obviously, based on physics, at any requred ground speed, 8 or 12 mph, Vories Unlimited would dominate farm tractors at 13500---but in reality, I don't think he could start the sled, without a horn going off!! You know, there are places there are a minimum ground speed, because 1066's and 4430's were tired of getting beat by boaring 830 jd's in low gear----how you are functi

The Middle Tennessee Tractor Pullers post ground speeds with their winning distances---90 percent of pulls are won by the highest ground speed----a speed limit controls not the turbo, the tires, the bottle or rpms, but the ability of the driver to get his power to the track, within the allowed speed, when, compared to 200 to 300 hp farm tractors, you bring in a 400 to 600 hp ih or jd, they, to ut

6 or 8 mph has worked well in southern Indiana at 13500 and 16500 dual wheel classes for a number of years, even though a number of the participants could run 12 to 18 mph at 12000 pounds. You have to have a little mercy on the people running the pull, even monitoring rpms at a non-sanctioned event is a challenge. Pullers have all seen the high cube, big buck 6030's, run away with a sled, b

Most 'idiot proof' system would be a relay switch which brings on the water at full throttle---if you build boost slowly and let the clutch load the motor some in the hole, you should be ready to roll by the time the throttle is at full open. If you nozzle is too big, and you smother the motor, you can reduce the nozzle size on the relay switch, and add a second nozzle with a manual swi

It appears that the AC in the results was Matt Altrater, who is shown on an AC220 in the photos of drivers list. He may have built another unit, or, as allowed in the rules, upgraded the sheet metal, but the 220 metal looked a little cleaner in the pics!! At 540 cubes, with the 2.4 charger, should be a fairly color friendly class. The AC appeared to have good tire speed in the photos, stopping

The 1568 must be the most prized of the late model ih's, and that alone makes it difficult to suggest pulling one in anything other than a farm stock or a n.a. (naturally aspirated class), but the largest n.a. association I know of is in Illinois and has a 10000 and 12000 lb class, with a couple of 1468's pulling in past years. Another consideration, repairs to the 6 speed trans and th

I agree with ol George, with varying track conditions, and a season of running/breakage, anything could wash out. The formula, basically a 27 percent cubic inch allowance for the diesel motors, has been run for well over a decade in a llss association (370 versus 470), and this year allowing twin charger 315 cubic inch diesels, ORVTPA, and alkys dominate in wins, but a lot of that is by sheer num
