If weight is not an issue, and avoid new gear production, the 4 speed trans from the guys twd could be used to replace the lenco, and you'd have some deep gear reductions, with a pair of trans that your hp is not going to challenge. A turbine puller used to run a Fuller trans as a reduction unit, infront of his trans mounted to his planetary rear, also a fuller. With 20 possible gear rati

If you're motor is back together, I recommend backing down the pressure on the water as an insurance measure, or plumb around the sensor with a manual switch. Better to drown it than to burn pistons, or warp a head again. If you have something heavy and secure to hook to, like a 4wd agi tractor or a tandem tri-axle, you should be able to secure the tractor enough to test building boost. Sta

Unless rules have changed in recent years, 9500 farm stock in ill does not allow water, and they usually run road gear, or a tooth one way or the other---the common response from folks at the pulls was, no water allowed, meant they did have to check the water to see it was legal----most were turning up pumps to an usually high cc per 1000 to keep temp in cylinders reasonable, but smoked like frei

For the 474, I'd think a 4.25 x 4.20 would be good, some stroke needed for torque. Would love to see a 300 I-6 run in llss. The base design is superior in head and bottom end to the popular 301 ih, which Covered in Red took to a championship last year. A 4.125 piston woulb be 318, 4.25 would be 339, more than enough to be competitive without future upgrades. As an alternative to downsizi

Another perspective of the intrepretation of Rule 6, and Rule 14, what if a puller didn't tear down, but admitted the violation of the challenge? Wouldn't an admission avoid the tear down, avoid the Rule 6 penalty, if applicable, and just miss two pulls. Looks like a puller could avoid the first tear down. No one, legal or not, wants to pull a head, outside a shop facility, void of to

In the llss class, Sipes full pulled, followed by Covered in Red (Medley) and then the 2-70 White, with an excellent run. Pete Baxter won 8500 profarm, in a three way pulloff, with Segal finishing second, and the Rattler third. Good crowd, excellent track, all classes well represented in numbers.

Check the for sale section, Little Angry (Anderson, I believe) has a listing, and a wealth of deutz knowledge. Major issues with 9006 are limited space to build cubes, is the short stroke model, 345 cu in, compared to 372 or so in stroker, many organizations do not allow alum heads, stock on a deutz, Hawthorn has built one two and three charger tractors, and they know that it takes to get to 410

Most organizations use a slug to measure the openings to the compressor wheel, like a 3.05 or similar slug to check a charger. There are custom builders of true 3 x 4 chargers out there, but cost a couple of seasons back were in the 4500 to 5000 buck range. The "choke" factor is not so much the 3 intake on the super farms charger, as is the 3 on the exhaust. While a 4.1 charger on a super farm w

4.19 x 4.33, 2955, euro 4040 w/turbo, Canadian Mist smoker, originally a single charger smoker, ran exceptionally well. Was from Kentucky. Others on here will have more specific info, could have been 329, 359 or 414 (750 dozer) cu in with factory parts. Believe the owners name was Moberly. Exotic builds are always expensive, but otherwise, pumps, chargers, blankets, cages, steel flywheels, clutch

ring gear divided by pinion = ratio, 49/12=4.08, 51/13=3.92, 49/13=3.76, the lower the number, numerically, the faster the ratio, at direct drive, the ring and pinion ratio x the bull gear ratio, around 5:1 in a 706, would be 4.08 x 5=20.4 , a 1566 ring and pinion is like a 3.08 x 5(in a 706 or non 1566 rear)=15.4, a pretty steep gearset. Check the teeth counts in a parts book for the exact ratio

560 is considerably larger and stronger, 460 case (bathtub) is probably 20 to 30% lighter in total wt. Had both empty cases next to each other in my pickup a few years ago, looked like you could almost lay the 460 inside the 560 housing. The 460 has more ring and pinion options, but ground speed can be readily sped up in the constant mesh, as stock high gear is only about .67 of engine speed, i

Medley 301, David is running a 369 cu in series 400 ih, 414 destroked. Medley shattered a couple of rear ends during the year, and David junked turbo's bad early on, but had a good year. Sipes has a small block cummins, has made some outstanding passes for a tractor less than a year old, great ground speed, and nearly always nails his balance.

Following Ross's line of thought, you'd not restrict the intake side, leave all three at 3.0, but you could have less restrictive exhaust wheels on top, the bottom charger is doing the compressing of whatever enters it, be it entering at 20, 40 or 60 lbs of boost. SS smoker systems with 2 over 1 were in use 20 years ago, and making 190 psi I know of in one ih application. The s400, fa

After viewing photos from three or four different photographers, and the video's that are posted, it's obvious the pullers in all classes are putting greater emphasis on individual tractor appearance. Wheather clean classic lines like Lance's 6030's, or the flamed, or heavily chromed units, all are raising the bar in overall appearance. Lookin' good on the track and on t

At 9300 lbs, you are going to be fighting a battle to get much moveable weight with a bb deere chassis. Small blocks readily can get to 585, can get pricey to go into the 640 cu in range. If set on Green, I'd recommend hitting the pits at the NFMS in Feb. Most pullers will share a lot of their experiences with you. Super farm is a torque class, big motor, small charger chocking rpm down.
