Most if not all of the plasma ignitions were removed from slow speed natural gas engines and replaced with pilot precombustion chambers. The plasma systems had issues meeting emissions guarantees and also had reliability issues.

The factor not considered in the explanation above is system back pressure, high system back pressure means there is residual gas (exhaust) trapped in the cylinder that prevents incoming fresh air from getting into the cylinder. I have not tried the math but perhaps delta P for use in the gas law would work?

There has been a lot of sniping and complaining on the forum lately, it is easy to make rude and disparaging comments when it is done anonymously. I know this has been discussed before, but I believe it is time to require sign ins with names and addresses.

As cruel as it sounds, the only statistic that is somewhat dependable is deaths per million of inhabitants. I say this because the number of deaths per inhabitants is regardless of the number of people tested. Obviously if you test more people you will find more Covid, the number of deaths is irrespective of any testing. The one thing is the cause of death has to be properly stated.
The number

What I see, but have no answers;
1) People are not afraid to not work. In our fathers and mothers time, if you did not work you did not eat, had no place to live and risked death.
2) Because people are not afraid to not work, we rely on foreign suppliers to provide what we want.
3) Because people are not afraid to not work, we import labor by millions to perform tasks.
4) There are lo

Two of our local small fairs have cancelled for this year, they were both scheduled for July of 2020.

You guys are getting caught up in the weeds with little details. The point of RCP's entire post is that it's a huge risk for the promoter to take this summer. It's an extremely risking proposition and the promoter bears all that risk. Events will cancel because of the increased risk and the uncertainty of fans and the lack of sponsors and potentially volunteers... even if things sl

The thing that most people are ignoring are the financial aspects;
1) How much money does it take to hold a pull at a place like Bowling Green? $250,000 ?
2) How much money goes to premiums? $50,000 ?
3) How many people does it take to run the pull? Track officials, parking attendants, food vendors, ticket sales etc? 100 ?
4) How much money do sponsors contribute? $100,000 ?

Hopefully they are not solely dependent on pulling for their incomes, the few that I know have other things that bring income.

We are pulling an Oliver with a 5.9 Cummins (small turbo, rotary pump) in a no speed limit 7k and 8k pulling classes. We are limited to 18.4 x 38 tires, no cuts allowed, would you prefer radial or bias ply tires and why?
Thanks

Western Pa is also pulling a lighter weight version called Tough Farm, 7000 and 8000 classes, lots of fun and looking for more competitors.

Well written Jake, there are rumors that Ohio and Pa are going to close universities and schools for the remainder of this year, with a switch to online classes.
Regarding outdoor venues, major league baseball and NASCAR have both cancelled for the next couple of weeks and those are outdoor activities, although maybe it was to keep people separated with the hopes that it would help stop the s

Canfield Ohio fair is a very good fair, there are lots of vendors, animal shows, old town display, etc to see while you are waiting for the pull to start. The stands are typically standing room only.

The subject of bore versus stroke relationship to horsepower and torque has been debated for years with no consensus of opinion. There was an article in Hot Rod years ago on a NA gasoline V8, where they compared an over square engine and an under square engine with the same valves, heads, carburation etc. It made no difference in torque or horsepower.
I would suggest doing what makes sense to

I for one would like to see a free body diagram, I haven't had to do one since Engineering school, 40 years ago. Don't forget this is not a static system, it is a dynamic system, so your free body diagram should have variables for the forces and angles.

I do not understand, the volume in the pipe would be a couple of cubic feet, the air flow is hundreds of cubic feet per minute, so how can the volume in the piping have much of an impact?

Is anyone here familiar with Art Forest from central Pa, Art pulls antiques, farm stock, hot farm etc. He has been pulling for probably 50 years (maybe more), including winter pulls with NATPA. Probably not what the OP was thinking, but he didn't specify what type of pulling.

If the OP builds it the way he proposes, he eliminates the need for tiebars which are required by some organizations. FWIW, Brad Maibach has built at least for tractor the way the OP has proposed.
