It is with deep regret that we have decided to cancel the Hawarden Truck and Tractor pull for this year which was scheduled for Friday night, June 21st. The grounds the track is located on is saturated with water from the heavy rains we received in the past few months. As I type this there is six inches of standing water where the bleachers sit as well as standing water all around the track.

Update. Hwy 46 from Beresford SD to Hawarden is now CLOSED. The next best route for the Dakota people would be to cross on SD Hwy 50 east of Vermillion or cross at Sioux City or Sioux Falls.
On behalf of mother nature I apologize to the South Dakota fans and pullers!!
All Iowa roads into Hawarden are still OPEN.
Thanks again to everyone for your cooperation and support you give the H

It was a great evening for a pull! I mysel wasn't that impressed with the cold pork loin sandwiches, but I'm sure it was a great effort. Something about this pull was "off" for me... It appeared that the hook numbers or classes were down. Could be happening everywhere with the farm economy. I noticed sponsors were off also, possibly also related to the current

Tractor pulling is the one motorsport that has gotten better with age. Modern day Drag Racing and Stock Car Racing just plain sucks. Its not looking like the 60s and 70s will be the Golden age for Pulling. That being said if these guys continue to restore or replicate the old tractors then I hope there's always a venue somewhere for them to pull. The people who like them can watch and

Advise taken! I personally have never gone to a pull with the menu being a consideration (although I did look forward to the homemade pie at Hinton back in the day)! But, you make a good point about the 6:30 start time and not having to rely on a stomach grenade from Caseys to get you through the night.
Rot gut hockey pucks will be gone next year.
Thanks again!

Good pull but they need serious help with food stands. Hockey pucks for hamburgers and rot gut hotdogs will not cut it for a good northwest Iowa outlaw pull. brats, brat patties, pork chop sandwiches, pizza ranch pizza would be a good start for a great tractor pull
I appreciate your input! We have always had the Pizza Ranch there but unfortunately there was a serious person

No 6 cylinder Cat engines were originally used in Ag tractors. The 3208 V8 Cat engine was used in Olivers and Whites. Yes, the Semi Trucks used Cat 6s. The 3406 Cat was used for many years in Trucks and is a Great engine!
