Re: How Not to grow the sport. - 1 year ago

I have said for years. START ON TIME! First vehicle should be hooked and tightening the chain within a minute of advertised start time. Not 20-30 minutes later

NYTPA events dropping like flies - 5 years ago

The dominoes are falling. At least 3 so far. I'm sure more than 50% of them will be gone soon. With Cuomo at the helm of this state there will likely be no fairs at all this summer. EDIT: 4 events cancelled

Re: Pulling in Indiana (Governor just outlined reopening) - 5 years ago

There has been a cancellation of a county fair in NY already. They are the first and I think they will likely all fall like dominoes now. Cuomo has already made statements that cast serious doubt on the State fair which is end of Aug. No pull there but reveals his state of mind and decision making process.

Re: New york tractors - 5 years ago

Maybe because the diesel truck class was not a very exciting one to watch? Perhaps there were several more committed to converting from the SF class? This is what I suspect

Re: New york tractors - 5 years ago

I have a hunch there will be several more.

Re: New york tractors - 5 years ago

I know there are several 4.1 tractors being built or are already built. They are expecting their own class. Several ran with the SS class last year.

QuoteOILY Little bitty should have went to Walton! Need to put that tractor in a museum where it belongs

Re: NYTPA SS class - 5 years ago

QuoteNo Nytpa has big issues in there Sf/ mod turbo class. Nytpa needs to decide if they want Sf or mod turbos. As Sf numbers drop then they will realize these are not the same tractors. 4 wins by a SF and 5 by a Lim Pro? Unless some tractors made the switch in the offseason I'd say that fairly well balanced

Re: Norwich NY pull - 7 years ago

Obviously the Superfarm class was great with 22 tractors and close competition. The SS class was a disappointment with only 5 that had 2-3 that didn't run the best. The biggest disappointment was the announcer. Totally clueless as to what was going on and extremely boring.

Re: New york diesels - 7 years ago

Burt was in Whitney Point last night. By Hank I'm assuming your asking about Super Allis? He's going through a multi year rebuild going component. Supposedly new motor setup very similar to Shrameks. Set to debut at the Norwich pull. That's all 3rd party hearsay though.

Re: What do you consider "Farm Stock" - 8 years ago

Farm stock. Unhook it from the manure spreader, turn the screw and go pulling.

Re: 1st Time Puller - 8 years ago

My advice is don't do it if it is your daily driver. You'll twist off your driveshaft and everyone in the stands will laugh. Happens here all the time.

Re: corn prices - 10 years ago

You have to remember this too. Livestock and Dairy guys are rolling in it pretty good right now. So they will have some play money right now. Its all cyclical. Grain guys had their turn. Now livestock guys. It will flip flop like this for eternity. The best thing you can do is plan!
