Okay, so I have a question. I have been told the transmission and rearend of the 1000 series tractors are the ones you want to be using when building a tractor. Is there much of a difference between the 1135 and 1155 (or 1130 and 1150) transmissions and rearends or will any one of these work well for pulling? Looking at a limited pro tractor..

The ITPA is doing great and is a good organization to be a part of.. Do we have problems? Of course, find an organization that doesn't...
Anyways, contact 217-923-3949 or itpa@itpapulling.com and ask them to send a Rule Book.. I'm sure they would be MORE than welcome to hear about interes

Junk Yard,
I'm sorry, I couldn't really follow and might be confused.. but do you mean you think that all big pulling should be strictly a Red/Green show??

Also, could we do this on our Massey Harris?
How much weight does it normally save on a 966 or so?

Just was wondering how Carlton and Dannie did tonight in the 10200# Pro Class..?
Both Warpath and TrailBlazer had excellent runs last night, just wanted to see how they ended up during finals..

We all love going down there to watch.. You will get to see as many tractors pulling at one event as you would ever want!
Goes fast, well planned, and well executed. Klint and everybody does a great job!
I'll be down there Thursday and Friday!

Depending on what type of tach you want this looks like it would work well:
This is the tach that I will be using and I only run about 2000rpms....

Does anybody know of any engine builders for Massey-Harris / Continentals? Specifically looking for carburetor work...
Had heard of the Martel's (sp?) from Southern IL, does anybody have a phone number?
Anything? Thanks!

The banquet went well, most everybody had a great time.
As to any changes, I don't think there was anything major that was done. The new class rules and whatnot were talked about for the 4.1 Ltd-Pro,
but other than that everything was nice in Springfield...

Any story on Dannie and TrailBlazer after the firework show in Altamont on Monday?
I was talking to them in the pits and trackside before the pull, but couldn't find them after they hooked.. I did get a look at the tractor and figured it was a burst fuel line?
Any info on the situation?

Again, I was just on the ITPA website and there is no problem there.. yes I do like the suggestion to put a link for the results on the top banner, but it's not hard to find now! Usually results are updated in about a day or two, no complaints there.. overall, I love the new Illinois website!

I've got a Massey Harris 55 pulling tractor with some starting problems...
The engine is so big and at so high a compression the old starter just doesn't do the trick. I've had multiple people tell me a gear-reduction starter is the way to go.
The starter is a Delco ML4309.
Two questions, 1. Where can I get one that will work for my application? and 2. Are there any other

Hey.. i run a Massey Harris 55 in the 5500# ITPA class and i've had the same problems! haha
Here's a couple things that were done to my MH55:
-Lightened wide-front. (Hollow tube replacing original cast.)
-Pressed 15.5x38 (as per rules)
-Smaller-than-stock fenders
-Smaller front wheels (16" I believe)
-Redesigned and lightened seat assembly
Hope this helps?
How about alu
