The problem is that makes sense, which is where pulling doesn't always use rational thinking. Its the old "I'm scared of something I don't have", or "I already bought this pump" excuse. Until there is a change of those who make, propose, and enforce the rules there won't be a change in the "P" pump rule. Why limit it to a cast housing?

I run a pump and think its a good idea, it pressure feeds the pinion shaft pushing the gear oil out between the gears. You can also rig up a tube to feed oil to the front top shaft bearing. There are plenty of people running without with no problems, I just feel its a little extra insurance. If its a GMS or Lemke they say use 85-90 gear oil.

If you like the NTPA rules, then what is the concern with pump rule. If its cost, then why not allow sigma pumps? They are less costly and more durable than the p pumps. The thought behind this, when the class was formed, was to try and keep things from getting out of hand. With no turbo limit, the smaller pumps and cubic inches would hopefully keep big turbos from dominating the class. Will it w
