you can take everything pto out behind thw pto clutch..hyd. pump runs off of the pto clutch housing.need that for your dual power to work, other wise rear pto shaft, upper gears, lower gears, can all be removed! should get yerself a service manual?

anything can be possible? just be prepared to improvise and change plans as you go? few things? 7.8 will have an 8 bolt flywheel, top rear bolts are quite a bit higher then the tractor,but you could make up some blocks? have seen it..front drive oil pump on truck motors and later tractor 401's so have to either space front casting bout 3" forward or radically modify your front cast assembly

are your axle shafts keyed to the wheel hub? or do you have the later axle with the 2 tapered sides on it? only difference I can think of? is there a chance that you might be putting the left hand stuff on the right side?and vice versa??

its just a small area on the pushrod side? for each cly. when you lay the steel head gasket on the block you will see the areas that i'm talking about? I did lay a short piece of thin o-ring along each spot too...didnt expect the ARP head studs would have much problem flattening them? One thing? if you are using a stock 401 water pump? you have to grind a bit off the front of the head for cl

use yer 9/16 head bolts, push rods are same length and use tm115 head gasket.. will have to use some rtv sealant along the pushrod side as water jacket holes dont quite match up been running this setup for years ,,have yet to blow out that laminated steel head gasket?

456 crank might work if you dont mind doing a bit of clearance work? here and there, have heard of fellas adding a deck plate to the top and after boring, shoving dry sleaves through deck plate into block? 456 crank from the lower hp genesis? have the same 6 bolt flywheel pattern as the 401 Am sure others with actual experience will correct me and point you in right direction

on a ford I used a fairly large hydraulic gear pump good for bout 4000 rpm in the spot where the steering pump would normally be? runs half the speed of the engine,, only draw back is if pump loses shaft seal? and fills your engine with diesel..yes it can happen...

pump turns half the speed of engine regardless of stroke? hence called 4 stroke. only issues I see would be a pump from the right side of engine which some tractors have ? when moved to the left, will have the fuel controls and inlets between the pump and engine? workable but a bit of a pain, could be changed too though...

the original genesis injectors were a 7mm tip, I had my engine shop guy open them up to 9mm, and I have been using the bar style injector holders. as usual best get a hold of Forresters in Pen.

put a tee on both sides and have a capped stand pipe a little taller then the hyd motor, turn steering wheel in both directions then add oil to stand pipes and cap, repeat until both sides are full of oil? then insure caps are sealed...

I have been using the laminated steel head gasket from the tm115 between the 401 and genisis head, needs a bit of sealant on the pushrod side to seal up water jacket? also there is a shop up here that will water jet you a copper gasket, beutiful fit and finish.
