When I started pulling with the Outlaws several years ago, John was one of the first pullers to come up to me, introduce himself and welcome me to the Outlaws. John and Linda were always the first persons I went looking for to say hi and talk to when I got to a pull. I really missed seeing them at the pulls last year when John's health prevented him from pulling. John always had a smile on h

I have been running an electric hydraulic pump on a JD using the stock early 4430 closed center steering valve and stock brake valve. I used a 12V electric pump with an adjustable pressure switch and a nitrogen charged accumulator. Without the accumulator the pump would short cycle (on/off/on/off/on/off repeatedly) due to the small leakage in the valves. With the accumulator, the pump will only r

Stroud made one for my perma clutch tractor about 5 or 6 years ago. While it was not a perfect fit, it worked OK. It is hard to get a real nice fit with the shape of the bell housing and the deep well for the PTO gear. On hindsight I always thought I should of cut/milled the PTO gear well off and covered it with a plate, as I removed the PTO gear anyway. I have since went to a dry clutch and sent

Sascha,
I think you have the IH 301 engine confused with the D310. The 301 is the old indirect injection engine (like a D282) and the 310 is what here in the states is referred to as a "German diesel" The D310 is a shorter stroked version of the D358.

Thanks HP! I thought I found something in the book a while ago about the skids, but I couldn't find it back. I remember seeing that heading this morning when I was looking, but went right past it thinking it was for something else. I guess I wasn't blind after all.............just stupid.
Thanks again!

Where can I find the NTPA and/or Outlaw rules as they apply to the front end skid shoes? I have been through the 2010 NTPA rule book and the 09 Outlaw book numerous times and can not find any info at all. I have also looked on the NTPA website. Maybe it's there and I'm blind....but I can't find it. I mostly need to know how high the shoes can be off of the ground, but I would like

HP,
I never did buy a 1" impact......decided if I did buy one I was going to need a larger air line then what I was using, so I got the larger air line and hooked it up to the 3/4" IR impact we already had and have been getting along fine with it so far.

If you are referring to the reverse/park gear on the pinion shaft then the rear end must be almost totally torn down. Final drives and diff must be removed as the pinion shaft must be slid back and removed from the rear of the housing.

I am looking for someone who could install Torrington needle thrust bearings in the planetary carriers on a 4010 final drive. This would be for the 3 planet gears on each final drive.
I may also want to install needle thrust bearings on the 3 differential bevel gears and the 2 differential side gears while I have it apart. The differential is a factory needled 3 pinion from a 4450. Close to w

If you want the fast 2 speed (direct & over drive) then you need planetary parts from a 4440 2 speed. 4450 and 4455 2 speeds are direct and over drive also, but they used the helical cut gears and depending on

All 30 series small frame row crop tractors and 4040, 4240,4050,4250,4055 and 4255 2 speeds are UNDER drive in the low side and DIRECT drive in the high side. The 4440, 4450 & 4455 2 speeds are DIRECT drive in the low side and OVER drive in the high side. So by installing a 4440,4450 or 4455 2 speed all gears will increase in speed by about 27%. To make a direct drive 2 speed an over drive 2 speed
