Does anyone know if there’s any pulls in Florida going on March 15-17?
Also, just for everyone else, post out any pulls, dates, and locations in Florida for the rest of the winter!

LOVE this and definitely agree with you. It doesn't and wouldn't take much for us to get to the next level and step up with our sport and engagement with the public.

We’ve got a very competitive Perkins. Will run with just about any 5.9 or DT360 here in Illinois.

If you’re talking about Rampage 1150, that’s an IH block.
The 7.4 or 8.4 Sisu is the best choice and can make big power. Randy Simmons is running strong with Hot Farm in Kentucky.
Talk to Jason Ervin from Upton, KY. He’s built a couple strong Masseys.

Jason Ervin at Ervin Tractor Service built ours and has tons of knowledge on Massey, Perkins, Sisu, and transmissions. He'd get ya taken care of.
He's on Facebook or I can send his number to you.

And yeah, if you don’t care about being a Massey and just want the sheet metal, I would say the Oliver rear with the 5.9 would be the way to go. That’s how Paul Knights Massey is setup and that one is a beast.

As far as I can tell an 8.3 would be legal in any AGCO umbrella tractor setup.

Yep, absolutely should have mentioned that. 8-speed is a must

A Massey rearend and transmission will certainly take a bunch of power, especially below 10k#. We also have some ProFab gears and hi/low in ours (ours is an 1135 rear).
Jason Ervin at Ervin’s Tractor Service in Kentucky (look on FB or I can give number) does a fantastic job helping with our Perkins and all Massey stuff in our ITPA Light Pro Farm.
5.9 certainly would be easier to get going

I know it’s been covered, but as a reminder for me and everyone this off-season,
Who is the go-to who is making velocity stack covers and exhaust covers?

Yep, our Massey is apart. Just doing some off season work!
And yeah, my dad isn't too keen on dragging Big Chief down the salty roads with an open trailer. Guess we'll have to get someone to pick us up next year!

Our ITPA class is 380 cubic inch, 3000 PRM, with a 2.6" charger and water injection at 6850#.
Definitely a fun class. We have a bunch of 5.9s, a couple DT360s, and we run a 365 Perkins. Supposedly a 301 AC and a JD being built for next year.

I am from NE Illinois and go down to Cynthiana Kentucky for Darnell's Dyno Service.
Mac's dyno is tough but you can bet you earned every horse and his help is invaluable!

I agree, I love watching them outside but they just don’t quite do it for me inside. I will say I think they put on a better show this year than past years.
And yes.... why the heck didn’t they reset the sled?! Really bad decision when it looked pretty obvious half the class was going get to the sand!

I think the whole class put on a great show!
Although anytime a Massey does well I’m happy!

Some people were talking about how to distinguish classes. Obviously a seasoned puller or fan can tell a difference between a Pro Stock and a Super Stock Diesel but I agree that to a casual fan it is a tough call.
I was thinking about this:
How about every sled have a board (electronic or like a gas station price board) that tells the total weight of the sled and at what point the box tops

Anyone have experience in changing gears in an 8-speed Massey transmission?
I have talked to a few people and seems like most just change the high/low gearsets in the rearend but my concern is that there is a 11% or 13% difference in 3rd to 4th and I would more like a 5% or 7% jump....

Contact Jason Ervin in KY
(270) 735-2673
He has my 1006 365 Perkins running GREAT in our Pro Field class in Illinois.
It's a diesel, but he really knows what he's doing.

Yes it should... I would think some measuring for clutch and flywheel would be in order as I believe the bellhousing is narrower on the 540s but it should work fine.

We are now running our 365 Perkins with a P-Pump.
We are having some great luck with the motor. It has taken a lot of work and Jason Ervin from Kentucky has gotten things figured out. We seem to have more power we can make and we think this really is a good option for the smaller cubic inch Masseys.
