I didn't say I had straight pipes,I have mildly loud pipes but even so I try not to make noise when around any houses, in town or in the country. You totally missed my point, just because I like a certain level of noise some others don't so I try not to impose my likes on others. I guarantee you that you have not had me blast past your house making a lot of noise on a bike no matter wh

I enjoy any kind of pulling as much as anyone and I really like watching the SS diesel trucks but I must admit that I don't like Rollin Coal on the streets. We were on our way home from an event one evening,as I drove down a two lane I was followed be about 5 trucks. When I got to a hill with a passing lane these trucks passed me as fast and hard as they could,I literally could barely see

So far we have had 8 each night in Fairlea,Wv and 9 each session in Tomah,Wi although the first session was rained out. I would think there should be 7 to 9 tractors depending on if the Ferry Bro. come west and if the twin Allison tractor makes it out again.

If they are trying to hide them they aren't doing a very good job because from what I read they were at the PPL pull in Greenville this weekend. They were also in Wilmington last week.

I remember once upon a time I was at the Indy Super Pull. A guy named Keick or something close to that had a Ford 8000 that had won the NTPA 7000 LBs SS points for the previous year. Ed Johnson said that he had run the whole previous summer without as much as pulling off a valve cover. I don't think any puller in any class can do that any more. We all push our engines and drive line par

Julie,
I wish we could have been there for your debut in the mod class looks like you had a good first outing. We really missed coming to your event this year,we dicided to run the Lt class this year so we went to Hazel Green to run Tarry's truck and got to look at the rain and mud Instead. The top engine wasn't quite ready for the Feissty tractor. Good job, hope to see you in Tomah.

First off if you read what I said, I was very supprised that the testing wasn't more detailed. Like when you take a CDL driving test.
I'm not sure where you get that we use the roads free of charge,I pay plenty of taxes for fuel, state taxes...this list could go on for a long long time. Every tax payer helps pay for the federal highway system through their federal taxes. Truckers p

I guess the middle ground I'm talking about is some sort of license that would test your skill at handling your rig but not having to follow all of the rules of a commercial trucking company. Most truckers I have talked to hate all of the regulations that they have to follow so why do you think pullers would embrace them? And yes I know your answer is going to be, protection from liability

I think most of us know we are pushing the envelope but I also think there needs to be a middle ground between what we do and what truckers do. I put on 10 to 12 thousand miles a year they do that in two weeks. I often wonder about Gospel groups that make money and travel the same as we do,in an RV...are they going to get the same treatment?

That is the lamest thing I have heard in a long time,I'm a pretty good tractor puller but I don't know the first thing about running a machine shop. I can do a lot of other things pretty well but none of them have to do with building tractor parts. I suppose you are going to tell us next that you can build your own SFI approved clutch!

We also have a system one on our TWD and have no issues with leaks. They are a little messier than the Oberg type filter and the Oberg is much quicker to check.

The advantage is that you can pull it apart quickly to see if you have any problems with bearings or other engine issues. You can do this between passes.

I remember the person next to me said he does that all the time and kinda rolled his eyes. Another tractor that I remember seeing in about 1977 was a tractor called Bull Shippers Express, it was a co-op with a V-8. He hauled it in a gooseneck cattle trailer. I allways thought that that was a clever name.

One that I'm sure you have seen over the years Charlie is Frank Fryman's Hercules. Frank didn't run any national events but ran very strong. The tractor is an F-20 with a big block Chevy. I watched Frank run against some HSTPA tractors back in the mid seventy's, he ran 18.4 tire and they all had bigger tires. I was a little shocked when he was in the top two or three,he ma

Well me and a lot of my friends will stay and watch them. I'm not sure why everyone is so sure that no-one wants to watch these classes. I'm not a big fan of the SF class so does that mean that no-one likes them,no it doesn't and I'm not narrow minded enough to think that. I understand that it is the "FARM SHOW" and is attended by mostly farmers but some farmers like the no

Ray,
Nobody wants to watch the 2wd,really? I for one want to watch them as well as a lot of my friends,so don't speak with such certainty about what other people want to watch. I don't pretend to know what you want to watch so don't pretend to know what I want to watch.

I have to disagree with youon one count Jake. After I watched David Seifert not make the pulloff the night before after being flagged,if you get the red flag and still have momentum you should be in no mater what your distance is. I suppose I can see a driver wanting to get a little deeper just to be sure. It does seem that that may not have been the reason for the DQ but who knows for sure.

I think one that has stuck with me over the years was the first mod tractors with the small airplane front tires. I think the Banter brothers started it. Although it wasn't as much a style thing as it was a necessarie part of making the engines all fit. I have to admit that I didn't like it at all but now I have two tractors with them. :-)

I seem to remember being at a pull just after the NTPA put the class in and they talked about the Kohl's as being one of the driving forces getting the class into NTPA. I think their names were Gary and Dale, I think they ran an 856 and a 1206. Can anyone confirm this, my memory is a little fuzzy on this.

I think any Class in pulling will be looked at by some as being boring that is part of why it is important to have a variety of classes. Most any class you look at has a certain combination that works best for the rules. When you look at the pro stock class most tractors are Deere's,look at the heavy ss class and most of the class is IH. It seems to be that way in most any class, pullers s
