I feel sponsors will sponsor events that involve any kind of car as opposed to tractors, that is where the support comes from.

HSTPA is using what is now called the National Rules at 6000 LBS. It is a probationary class this next summer so they won't be a part of the points system but will be a class that is offered by HSTPA. Feiss Motorsports has offered a $500 year end bonus for the top three tractors for next year. The class needs to have 10 pullers step up to buy memberships in HSTPA by January 1st for this t

No one knows what they will do but I've not heard any discussions about C rotor vs D rotor. I'm not sure what the guys that are running the screw blowers have at this point. Last year we had proposals to run screw blowers in the mod class that didn't pass the full board. At that time no one talked about C rotors,D rotors nor was there any mention of overdrive speeds. These are

I would have said the same thing at this time last year but in the mod meetings at the Enderle the committee recommend allowing screws in the mod clas. I was very surprised by that. The full board did not allow it to got through. I have heard that it may be approved this year.

I looked into a 990 DB for an econo mod rearend once opon a time. I think I would stay away from that rear and go with the usual. The way that the 990 was the axle shaft that drives the bull gear is very small and it would likely get smoked pretty quickly. We had a case 1490 (I think thats what it was)at one time,it was a good farm tractor but it looked like the rear was very similar to the 99

There are lots of places that run a single engined small tired tractor class but don't use the short frame. I'm not sure what you mean by relaxed rules.

Either one should handle 800 HP. The cockshutt 40 will handle it better especially if you don't run the tractor trans, they will handle a lot more than that without the trans. We have run oliver 88,they will break at 800 HP but the 1650 will hold up pretty well. The last one we bilt was a ford 4000,again the tractor trans won't hold up very well but the reared will.

Jason,
I appreciate your honesty and integrity in dealing with this. It is a pleasure watching you run your home grown parts with the best in the country and competing very well. It's cool to see a different tractor running at the top. Good luck and keep up the good work.

Larry Piekarski parted out his mod,the chassis ended up with the Barga family. Larry Roberts I'm pretty sure still has one OSS tractor as some of the mod chassis. We saw the Prohibited truck run last summer in Ionia,Mi. The Walkers sold the Semi's and Shawn Swearingen also sold his mod.

Any class that wants to become an HSTPA class has to have ten paid members to be brought on board. It has been this way forever,we did talk a little while about changing that number in light of the numbers in pulling in general. We talked about this in the Friday board meeting but I didn't make it to the full membership meeting on Saturday so I don't know if it was talked about then

We run a TWD and it does get I little old watching 70 go down the track, but it gets old watching 70 of anything go down the track. If you think BG needs anything to make their event flourish you must have never been there, it is flourishing quite well. These large pulls like BG and Tomah have to have a large variety of classes to fill the seats. I know it's hard for some folks to beleave

George,NTPA does get a sizable amount of money from Case/IH. We get a separate check each year at the banquet from them besides our points check. Not to mention that they provide a lot of equipment at GN events to work the tracks. It's not earth shattering put it helps so I suppose you can paint your IH tractors their original colors! ☺

You guys at Millersburg definitely have some unique dirt. I pulled there quite a few years ago with the S'no Farmer Xtreme, it was odd dirt but we got along with it just fine. The one night Ron Barga and I were setting our front ends up on a big pile of dirt at the end of the track, good times.☺ When I collected dirt for my dirt sculpture that I sold at the OSTPA scholarship auction I coul

That's because if they give these tractors too much hitch at the line they get way to much ground speed in the first 100',then they can't be stopped until about 400'. I've been there done that. With my mods if they allow me to open the throttle at the line and carry the front right away we are going for a long ride.

I find it interesting that folks want to change tire size on any classes. We run the Lt. Unlimited class and spend tremendous amounts of money just so we can hold down the front of our tractors. Yes we need to feather the throttle coming out of the hole but that is just part of the driving game,it's one of the things that makes some pullers better than others. I remember BV saying that t

We ran a three engine mod at State and RN events for years. There was a sled that we pulled down south that gave us a lot of hitch right out of the hole. All of the sleds up north we would have to come out at partial throttle to keep from blowing the tires off. On the sled down south we could open up the throttle right at the line. Now here is the problem,we would get so much ground speed in

We took our rv there for years, they have electricity and a dump station with a water hose to fill your water tanks if you want. I think it cost about $50 a night. Go to the KY fair and exibition center Web site to make reservations. We liked it because it was very handy to the show and pull with a nice close place to rest when you need to.

I think one thing that could help with the fume problem would be to have the USS and Lt SS use a smoke tube. When the USS class runs they seem to be worse than the Mods and even if they aren't that is a possible solution to the breathing issues we have in the stands.
As far as the hauler parking it looks to me like they could use the lot just across the road from the current pit parkin

I worked at a power plant for many years and they had a backup fire pump engine that was an A-C. I'm not sure anymore as it's been a long time but as I remember it was a very large CI and it ran on gas. It had two spark plugs per cylinder. We would have to go out and run it about once a month for 1/2 hour,I don't think it was ever used for it's intended purpose. I always l
