Since we gave up pulling I spend more time in the stands. People that know me come around and ask what is the difference between the smoker classes. The classes usually are Mod. Turbo, SF, Pro Farm, LL Pro, Pro and super and an open class for those who don't have roll cages etc. and that really confuses people. A good announcer is the most important part of the pull. We are lucky to have a g

I like both. I got into pulling because of guys in our area that built their own. I'll never forget the story of George Kuback when he had his 5020 at a local machine shop that built barn cleaners. They were trying different things to beef up the clutch etc. When they got it working George decided to take it for a test ride down US Rt 6. An old guy came in the local Agway and said you guys w

I had this pump rebuilt at a cost of $3000 and less than 100 hrs. later it is leaking out the top of the pump where the injection lines attach. Only 2 barrels are leaking. Pump shop now tells me the housing must be bad. Want me to bring it back and they will check it out at my cost. I asked if there was a test that should have told them the housing was bad at rebuild. No answer. I hate to spend

The Illiana stock rules are the best I have ever seen. They would be perfect if you would eliminate all the "stock appearing" phrases and just say stock. The turbo rule is great ! Most rules say 3". What farm tractor ever ran a 3"? Great rules if you can enforce them for all pullers. You let one slide and you are done !!

Don't go crazy setting your tractors up because of the Harford track. That is a Hp. biting track. Have pulled their for 20+ years. Depending on the sled we could pull 7th in the 9000 day class. With the sled that was there this year we could not. Couldn't even get it out of the hole. Pulled the same sled 2 times at Walnutport in 7th no problem. I know Kuback had bounce problems at Hugh

I found it saves me and the customer a lot of time if I just put the price in whether it's hay or a piece of equipment. If the price is out of their range most just don't call. If I am looking at ads and there is no price I just skip it. The other part of that is if you really don't want to sell it. Don't advertise it. Oh yeah be honest aren't we all tire kickers
