There is alot more to welding on hubs than placing them on the axle and making a couple of chicken Sh!t passes.
I have no idea how the hub in question was welded nor do I know where it broke. But I have seen some pretty intersting
welds on some tractors. I am no welding expert but I did get an education by someone who was good opened my eyes alot.
Preheating the piece to be welded, selecting t

That's a good question and it has been tried many times.
In 2014 I think a guy ran a Deere 466 in Badger SuperFarm and was consistently in the upper half of the class.
We here run 3 Fords in SuperFarm 2 on 540 one on 510.
My Blue Bye U last year with a 540 on ice ran rather good for never being on the dyno.
Ended up 3 firsts in a row and many 2nds and 3rds with Pullers Inc. and managed a

Not quite, that is quite correct if it does go straight through. However most do not as direct is too slow.
So in turn they go in over to a counter shaft and then back to the main shaft. Thus being not optimal.
Offended no...... interpretation of what was meant is what was in question.

Not quite..... Really????? In the top and down and out the bottom through 1 set of gears is not the most efficient??
I guess I am a dumb ass.
Curt yes an Atlas Max is prabably a viable option. It's just with the back gears to get down to the bottom shaft creates more gears to drive. Taking away from efficiency. But then again not quite will tell me differently.

These are all questions I am looking for answers too.
I have a 7000 chassis my fastest gear is around a 19:1 using the Hi-Lo over drive gear setup.
I need to have an 18:1 and 17:1 just out of gears right now.
I bought a 3.50:1 ring and pinion brand new but concerned about running it in reverse.....
What would the end result be in final drive ratios be if I did install the 3.50:1

We use a 11" wide 3/16" thick mild steel bent to an 8" tall with 1 1/2" lips.
Our frames we have made for the 8000 size rear ends are made to stay together when removing engines.
But they are not easy to engine dyno.

They are the metal ones?
I have never had any fallout metal or plastic.
If you are concerned put new o rings on.
The plastic ones are not a 100% seal either the fat part is kinda squareish
make sure the holes are clean and run it.

Here is the other thing people don't remember about tractor pulling. Some want custom made parts.
Karl builds an aray of parts to keep on the shelf that work great.
Some of us call him and want custom made one off parts. These take time to engineer and set up for his equipment.
There is great demand for pulling parts that should be a good thing as we are assured interest from people build

The problem is not necessarily with the people at Atlas.
Today's society is 24/7 365 you have access to most everything all the time.
Atlas is one a few whom supply part to thousands they are not a walgreens on every corner.
Atlas is a small family run operation with good people.
But with anything like this there is people who call and ask questions with no intention of buying.

I understood what overdrawn was getting at some of us are "addicted"
Some it runs in our blood others saw it once and got hooked.
It brings people together and splits people apart.
I have met so many new people through pulling all over this great country.
I enjoy building and pulling about the same I can take dead last and have great conversation with another puller or a fan.
