So far in this entire thread the best reason given was by patches... the diesel guys don't want to hook with the alky guys. That's the best reason given so far. One other reason is the NTPA likes having the option to book both classes. They don't really care how many tractors are in the class, they just want something to sell to promotors.

Trump was not fiscally conservative by any standards during his first three years. He's never been fiscally conservative in either his presidency or his personal life. A HUGE portion of our inflation is directly because of his excessive spending. Yes, COVID didn't help, but he still made those terrible decisions during COVID and he outsourced the last year of his Presidency to Faucci

Advertising doesn't cost money. Advertising makes money. For every dollar spent advertising they better bring in more than a dollar or there's no ROI and there's no reason to advertise. Advertising and paying athletes for endorsements makes money for products.

A smart lawyer would go after the lack of wheel tethers well before he'd argue about the chassis. Since there's no spec on a component chassis there's no evidence they are safer. Since wheels have come off of mods and component tractors it shows there's still an issue with loose wheels and nothing has been done to address that issue.
The fact that tethers are already in u

Not trying to be offensive but lowering it to 640 would do nothing. It would be like changing the tires to 24.0". You'd have to lower it significantly to see any real difference.

First question I'd ask... Is there an SFI (or other engineered) spec for a component chassis that can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a component chassis is safer? I've personally seen a component tractors lose wheels. The truth is, there's no spec, they can be homemade and there is no safety standard that has to be meet other than saying it must pass tech which isn't e

They had to start on it long before September to get 4000 hours in it.
I guess that would depend on how many people were working on it and how many cnc machine were running.
Most local garages around me charge $149 an hour for labor to work on your car. I'd say $200 an hour for labor for a custom one-off piece like that would be pretty darn reasonable. That right there put

I heard the sound is much better in most parts of the arena which is great news. Where I sit down in the media area it's still pretty bad.... It's better than the past few years but it's still not clear. I was talking with Dan Mayer about it this morning and down across from us in the announcers area it's still not clear there either. So I'm assuming it might just be a p

It not about being loud... It's about about sound clarity. Ever since they removed all the acoustic ceiling tiles the reverberation of the sound waves has caused the sound clarity to suffer severely. There are probably some areas where the sound is okay but there are other areas of the arena where the sound clarity is terrible. That's the main complaint.

I've always been a tractor guy, but I'd trade a session of Pros for a second session of Mods or a session of Minis.
As for the Pros that aren't here... They probably didn't apply because I think there's only a handful of Pros that get rejected (if any).

I completely agree. The livestream is simply what's been shown on the jumbotron for a few decades now. The only difference is they stream the exact same feed to the internet. The added cost of that is minimal. As for everyone having their hand in the jar... sure... it's a state run event everyone has to get a cut.
The truth is the market for the livestream is very, very small and

I absolutely love this motorsport. I'm excited to see the pull in-person in a couple of days. I don't take for granted that I have one of the best seats in the house and I get to sit with some of the best people, people I look forward to talking with and hanging out with. I look forward to this pull every year. I'm in the upper tier of loyal fans of the sport.

I'm surprised there aren't more comments on this. This is one of those things that people always say when they are against a limit on something that they already spent money for.
Good limits save money. Bad limits (rules) cost money. Overall I'd say limits save money though.

First, I'm not saying or imply that the 4.1 class should go away. If you reread my response to Craig Ladwig I agreed with him about his comment regarding the 4.1 class being at the top of the food chain for non-component classes. I think that's a great spot to be in for the 4.1 class. That should be the goal of the class... top of the food chain for the fans that still want to watch

Jake, As a dedicated 4.1 puller I don't really care for the way you seem to be putting down the 4.1 class.
Where did I put down the class?
Where did I say anything negative about the class?
Where did I disparage the class?

I totally agree with your premise IF the 4.1 class stays Ag chassis. My question is more if the guys clamoring for components get their way... then what niche does the class fill?

No, that doesn't tell me what roll they have moving forward... that's just a number. It's great that they have good numbers, but that doesn't tell everything about their future. I remember when Super farm was by far the biggest class... 4.1 took away part of that Super farm niche. I think 5.0 will do the same to the 4.1 class.

I'd expect that number to grow by at least 50% in the next few years. Honestly I'm not sure what role the 4.1's play now that we have 5.0 Pros. Some of the 4.1 guys keep clamoring for a component chassis, so my question is why have a 4.1 class? I guess I'm just confused at what niche the 4.1 has now.

I'm no tech guru either. Google is forcing ALL websites to a secure protocol. I'd love to switch the website over to https but that takes time. I've got tons of projects going on and very little spare time. I'm hoping to make the switch at some point but I have no idea when. Until then people will have to just work around it.

I'm with LSS fan... the weight should be lowered, not raised. A 6000lb. class would be great. Lighter weight makes it more about setup and driving. Heavier weight just becomes a horsepower race. Sadly horsepower is like crack or meth for pullers, there's always been more focus on HP than there has been on setup. Don't get me wrong, HP is great but I have huge respect for those

As Bryan said, some browsers (especially Chrome) add an "s" to the web address. Certain browsers automatically put:

It's a really minor thing, but it's causing tons of problems. There is no "s" in the address. If you remove the "s" the page will load normally. My advice is to bookmark the page without the "s

Ukraine and Russia have been fighting for almost a decade now and the Israel/Palestinian conflict goes back to 1947.
Sure, there has been conflict, that's not the point and you know it. The point is that WAR started under a feckless and weak US leader. WAR was specifically started during the Biden regime because the rest of the World knows he's a joke.
