Greg, This was not our preference but when dealing with the carnivals, and they are getting fewer now days, you have to take what you can. They have already worked with them to be able to move to the following week next year. Sometimes you have to deal with what your dealt.

Five years ago when we started with the 8.3 parts were hard to find BUT now there is just about anything you need for this engine! Performance Cyl. Head has provided parts for at least four different 8.3 engines this year.

The Maury County Fair Board is hosting a Mid South NTPA Sanctioned event this Thursday, August, 18 at 6.30 central time. Purse is the Mid South "A" $2500 paying 8 places. We will be running the LLSS, Pro Stock Trucks, Super Farm Tractors and Two Wheel Drive Trucks. we have a very similar set up and use Simpson setup.we burn about 64 oz. More pressure usually willcauseb the water to atomize better.

4.78 bore and the stock 8.9 crank equals 636 C.I. The 8.9 crank goes right in the 8.3 block.

We used a 1800 with a lot of modifications, billet input and straight cut gears for the gear combinations. We run a 8.3 at 636 c.i. super farm and have had good success. Check out youtube " Still Spendin Daddys Money". Its a good combiation!

We machined an adaptor to go between a Cummins balancer and the crank snout. Then machined a mandrel to bolt through the balancer into the adaptor. Have it off now can shoot you pictures if it would help.

We have used a Holley HP150 gerotor fuel pump for the last two seasons to lube the rear without any problems. Pumps synthetic gear oil fine. Has an internal screen to catch any metal. Jeggs has them for around $ 225.

We used the earlier 1800 on our SF and changed the bottom pinion and gears to the later style. We added a Holley 1500 fuel pump and are oiling the pinion shaft and both bull pinions. Works great, be glad to share information.

KTA your correct. I was referring to the 8.3 and not the later ISM series engine. Did not pay any attention to the subject line. We do use the latter series ISL block for the connvience of the roller lifters just like a lot of the IH guys use the newer truck blocks for the same benefit. The 12 valve head will bolt right on the ISL block with alittle massaging the pushrod holes for clearance. As f

White was the first that I know about but others later followed. This engine has a lot of potential with 637 CI not a problem.As far as cost goes, just depends on how far and how much you want to spend.We are pleased with ours, just wish we had switched a couple of years earlier.

Mid South will offer a LLSS class for 2012 as a NTPA Member State class. The rules are attached. The rules were written to include both ORVTPA and MTTPA.
