Okay, a little off my own topic but to Ryan68, I agree with you 100%. You are getting paid to put on a show. With better shows, we will hopefully see better payouts. I am hoping to talk to you about Central City again.
To Supersquirter, the classes I listed are just random classes I thought of while typing. I am just trying to get some numbers or answers.
To Jake, I agree on how far to pay

OMG, that didn't take long to de-rail. I should have just put "New LLSS component class" as the subject and see what happened. Holy crap. I can get plenty of guys to complain about terrible payout and how things are being done wrong. But yet, I have only had 1 person give any kind of numbers. If you come on here and complain about bad payouts and organizations doing things wrong, then let ev

I took about 2 seconds for the question I asked to get turned into a "how rodeos do it better" and "we need sponsorship money". I was trying to ask a serious question. So I am going to try this again.
There has been multiple people that advertise an event on here with the payout for that event. Then others come on and talk about how good or bad they feel the payout is. So my question is, if

There has been multiple people that advertise an event on here with the payout for that event. Then others come on and talk about how good or bad they feel the payout is. So my question is, if someone is to host an event, what should the payout be for each class(Pro, Limited Pro, Limited Pro Diesel Trucks, Hotfarm, LLSS, etc)? How far back should they payout? If someone is planning on hosting an

To everyone talking about the fastest tractor winning because of no speed limit. Yes that is usually correct. It's just like every other class in pulling. Generally the faster you go, the further you go. It's like saying we should limit ProStocks to 25mph to keep it fair and the cost down. Then ProStock would be a drivers class, not a money thing. Really? MPH classes are fine for some p

I want to start by saying, traditionally I am not a big fan of creating new classes. I feel that most of the time when a new class gets created, it just takes tractors out of an existing class. However, a couple clubs in S.W. WI, and N.E. IA have started to run a 10,000pd altered farm class and it's good. I have watched this class run multiple times this year with Tri-State Pullers and they

Just my opinion as a spectator who travels to dozens of events a year. I feel the 5" ProStock class could be great. I feel they could offer just as good of show as the other Prostocks. I feel they could be slightly more cost effective than traditional Prostocks. But I feel the bigger problem is going to be the look. Let me explain. All these ProStock classes look the same. The Light Pro, Limited

To SnoFarmer, the obsolete parts things happens to all vehicles. I have had many times where a part I need is obsolete or discontinued. It sucks, Most times these vehicles still have plenty of life left in them and then customers are stuck trying to find either a used part or stuck with a worthless car. I also think there are some dealerships that are taking advantage of customers and charging in

The worst word in any motorsport, "stock". I understand that we have classes called Pro Stock and Super Stock, but the word stock should never be associated with a motorsport unless they are truely stock. And like stated before, a true stock class would be a nightmare to tech. And putting a mph limit on it will not stop guys from spending money. Personally, I am not a fan of mph classes eather. B

So I personally don't care for the 680 cube rule, and I do like to see the engine match the sheet metal. But the rules say 680 and any sheet metal. So if the BBJD is dominant and most dependable, why wouldn't you use it. Surprise, it's becase they want to win. You are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on these machines. They don't want to be towards the back. And if yo

So last night was the Highland Nationals in Highland, WI. To start, no, I was not able to attend. But I sat at my camper watching videos online, messaging people at the pull, and following the results on PullingHub. To start, the new Claas Pro looks awesome. I don't love that the sheet metal doesn't match the block, but it does bring something new and hope people continue to build these

I was told it's not happening. I messaged them about 2022 and was told they lost a big sponsor and no more pull. We started attending Cloverdale and were going back every year (It was about 5.5hrs for me). Since that one ended, we started going to the Shipshewana NTPA pull. The Shipshewana pull is good and there is more to do around town. I do miss Cloverdale.

Jake, 2 things.
1, I agree with you when you talk about inappropriate announcers and vehicle names. While I was announcing an event last year, I made a comment that I felt was wrong. It wasn't too bad and no one said anything to me, but I try harder to make sure what I say is appropriate. And you are correct, there was not 1 inappropriate comment made at the baseball game.

Thank you Paul. Your response is 100% what I was thinking as well. Why does my son like baseball? Because he started playing when he was young. Why does my son like pulling? Because he has been around it his whole life and started pulling himself when he was 4. My son also talks to other kids about it. Now tonight, I am driving an hour and 45 minutes to take 3 boys to the Badger State Pull in Mil

So this past weekend I attended a Milwaukee Brewers game with my wife, my son, and one of his friends. For starters, I am not rally a baseball fan. If I never go to a game again, I will be fine. My son and wife did want to go and it was an outing we could all do together. But the whole time I sat there at the game, I kept wondering why an MLB game on a Sunday afternoon goes over so well and a Sat

I had a conversation with a ProStock puller about this topic. At an event the winner of his class went 380+. Yes the crowd thought it was awesome. And when I asked him after the event what he thought, this is how he explained it to me. He did not have a problem with the long track(I believe he went 365ish). But he said if your going to allow us to go 360-370, don't reset the sled when we onl

I agree Jake, I really want to see it grow as well. Modified garden tractors and outlaw tractors do not get the credit they deserve. It's one of the reasons I started the Outlaw Garden Tractor Pulling Series. And I am still working to try to make the series better. Maybe it's just in a slump, but I do think you will see it grow in the next decade.

Jacob, I don't know what the answer is on this. I have always thought if you would run tractors like your class next to the big tractor at an event, it would work perfect. I ran with a club 2 weeks ago that did that and it worked great. I feel the cost to bring in these little tractors as a filler to have something going down the track in between the big tractors is perfect. Something I do k

I have had drivers I cheer for in Nascar for over 20 years. I do not watch every race, in fact don't watch many of them. But I find myself following Nascar more now than 5-10 years ago. And it's not because of how great the racing is, it's because of content that gets posted online. In my opinion, Nascar has done a ton of things wrong in the last decade. Things like Nasar Radioacti

That whole thing was just wierd. At first it was advertised as an Outlaw Pull. I talked with the Outlaw organization and they corrected that and told the promoter to change that. They were posting pics on Facebook of competitors that were coming, and I don

To Lewis, we have cheaper ways to pull already. The problem is what peoples expectations are. Example, someone goes to an event and sees a ProStock and thinks thtat's what he wants to pull. That's unleastic for most people. Now someone that goes to an event and says they want to get into pulling somehow, that can be done. You can't have ProStock tractor on a garden tractor budget.

Ryan, I do agree with a lot of what you are saying. I have only ever announced 1 event a copule of times. But every time, I get there early and go talk to the drivers. I ask them about their tractor, what have they accomplished, things like that. When the class starts, I try to talk about the tractors and what they are. Last year, I brought the winners into the announcers booth and did a real sho

Down time is a big thing. There is very little down time at a dirt race. Where even at a pull with 2 tracks there is down time. It is harder to keep the crowd entertained. Another thing that some people may disagree with is the cost of getting started and the crowd you get to race in front of. You can get into a lower class of racing relatively cheap compared to pulling. Even then, you get to rac

Dick, thank you. I asked about payout as a serious question and it really went a different direction. My thinking was to try to see what good payout so if someone is putting on a pull, they have an idea. Events are going to come and go, but if someone wants to start a event, they need to know what to expect to pay for payout. And I understand that when you bring in an organization, they do the pa

There has been more talk lately about payout at events. So my questions is, what is considered good payout for a particular class? What are some of the events that have had good payout? What should it pay to win points in a particular class? Everyone would like to see big payouts, but what is a big payout to win?

I get the excitement of the crowd when someone puts it in the sand. I really understand that a puller may not want to hit the sand. And I also understand that it could be hard for a sled operator to have that sled set perfect so no tractor hits the sand. I was in Ship this last weekend and felt they did a decent job for sled settings. A couple guys touched it, but no one slammed it.
