The 27 or 32 housings are more suited for 540 cubes and 600 cube motors respectively?

Open rpm 466 with a ton of work. p8600 pump. Hx-60 with a smooth 3" cover and 3.6 " exhaust. Would you be more inclined to try a 27 or 32 housing? Will be running a hyper #02 cam with roller everthing. Neil Christensen 608-317-7321

I made my own frame rails and they are correct length. Any difference in frame rail length and the sheetmetal wouldnt fit correctly. I must need a single v-belt front pulley system. Everything comes together pretty close. Just need to find another 1/2 inch or so for clearance. I will contact case ih this morning and get to the bottom of the dampner issue.

Thats what I need to buy then... A single v-belt front pulley. Got a part number? Anyone have a single v front damper for a tractor?

One quick question.... Read lots of posts about guys swapping the dt360 navistar engines into these smaller frame tractors. I did everything that I had learned from the forum, but ran into a little set-back. Engine is bolted in. I am using a 400 series tractor front cover, so my front two holes need to be relocated. not a big deal. I cut 7/8th of an inch off both sides of the cover and modified t

Can a 74 turbo be used in a 3x4 turbo class with any success? I have one with a 3.3 x 3.9 wheel set. Is there a nice housing that is available that an open rpm 466 would get along with? And can the 3.3 compressor wheel be clipped to 3", or is there aftermarket ones available for this build? Anyone try this yet?

Thanks for the info. I know I have a model 100 sitting on the shelf that came in on a dt-468 roller takeout that I bought once. No idea why it was on there, but thought it might be one of the better ones. All stock 100's had a 10 mm head on them? Or would this pump have a factory 11 mm head possibly?

Well put, bad medicine. Very insightful. Does anyone out there with any intelligence have any input? I've never pulled anything mild enough to run a model 100, but I have heard that there were some model 100s that could push more than others. Curious if anyone out there knew how to identify these so called "special" pumps.

At what cost, and how do you know whether or not your pump has a "good" head? Are there external things that a guy can look for that will tell him that one model 100 is better than another?

Looking at 3x4 turbos. Who makes a good one these days, and what base model are they starting with? Is the 3.6 holset hx-60 still competative? I once heard about a tv-800? turbo. Is it an air research? Is it a box charger? What else is there that people are using?

What are you allowed to run for a pump?

70 lbs max. Looks nice, but I would be leary of the durability on a good turbo.

I think that they are roughly 45 lbs per side, but I havent weighed one in quite a while. The lightest steel rims that I have ever had were 85 lbs total per side.

Im located in southern Wisconsin, and like the light pro rules. seems like an extremely fun class that allow guys to run whatever they can spin for a charger. Just wondering why the rules exclude the 8600 pump in the badger state, and if they will ever consider lifting that ban. I must say, I was quite discouraged when Scheid told me that I had to spend $12,200 on a p-7100 to run in that class. T

I am interested in putting a light pro together in Wisconsin. I believe that fuel is limited to a p-pump. How many cc's are you guys running?

I will debut a 540 light pro. Like the idea. What kind of fuel do they run? My Scheid pump only runs around 850 cc of fuel. Where are you light pro guys at? Do I need 1200 cc?

I believe that the 14-49 and 16-49 ring and pinions that you saw for sale were for the small chassis tractors, not the 706 and up style. Perhaps the 666 pullers could chime in and clarify the situation for you.

I know! There was NO way I was going to send that kind of cash over the wire on that little of info. The phone number this axxhole was contacting me with was 774-728-2763. Im sure the name and number will change, but be aware that this guy is on the loose. Still no response to me after all this time. Luckily he made no money off of me.

I told him that I had made the transfer via Western Union, and would gladly give him the account number to retrieve the cash as soon as I received pictures in my e-mail or on my phone. Since then I have not heard a word. Nice to know this guy has attempted this before with others. I will post his number on the forum and I hope everyone puts it on their desktop to remind them of the scam. Especial

He wanted paid via Western Union and claimed he was not able to send pictures of the turbo because he didnt have a camera at the present time. Seemed suspicious to me. Beware of soliciting phone calls from financial predators on this page and all others you use. Pulling parts are quite costly to begin with, so make sure you get what you pay for. Seems professional on the phone, but want to confirm that he does have the turbo before cash is released two states away. Anybody ever deal with him?

I need a splined coupling made to join two 1 1/2" shaftswith 14 splines. It needs to be 3" in length, and I would prefer a heavy wall thickness. Something along the lines of 3/8 or so of wall thickness. If you can make me this coupling, please call me for any additional details and a figure for price. Neil 608-317-7321

The factory constant mesh gears are 28-45, so I know there is room in front. I will take a look at the case, and make sure that there is a consistent amount of space all the way back towards the first gear position.

The point is to build a 1566. That is the whole point of this project! I understand that it is going to cost a little more than normal, and parts always have to be custom made, but thats really the look I am going for with this one. I cant just call up Pobar, or Dave Pfund or any of the other exceptional builders out there and have them send me what I need. It must be different, unique, and obvio

Seems to me, I need to come up with the right gears that will create an overdrive transmission in the 30 to 35% range. Like a .7 input turns to 1 output turn. that would net a final drive of 20:1.
Likewise, a .68 rotation on the input to 1 full turn of the output would net roughly a 19.5:1 ratio.
I have a new set of 35-38 constant mesh gears left over from an old chassis, and would like to

Havin a hell of a time calculating the gear changes needed to fit a planetary rearend into a 466 open rpm p-pump class with a 3x3 charger. Here are the details:
16-49 ring and pinion nets a 3.06:1 ratio
Bull gear reduction is from 30 teeth drive to 56 teeth driven neting a 1.87:1 ratio
Outboard planetaries are 18 teeth drive and 72 around the outside netting a 5:1 ratio

Dont even worry about serial numbers. No, not all 468 engines are roller cams either. I have plenty of blocks here in the shop that will say otherwise. Quite simply carry a 1/2 inch wrench with you in your truck when you are buying engines. Pull the three bolts off of the side of the truck blocks where the side mount breather would be installed on tractors. You can see plain as day whether o

Build whatever you can afford, plus a little. Thats all any of us can do. Doesnt really matter what you are making for horsepower. There's more to it than that! Get it put together and I will be looking for you at the pulls. I'm nearly completed with a similiar project. 1566 with 466 engine, open rpm's p-pump etc. Good times ahead!
