The deere rods and bearings run the same sizes as the 400 series IH engines. Deere rods are slightly wider on the rod journal end, and need to be narrowed up slightly. Really easy conversion to IH, but other engines may be harder to pull off. Believe the difference in length is .350" Both rods use the 1.625 wrist pin.

I drove out to the Keystone Nationals from Wisconsin this last spring to look at the superstock class and to see what the east coast had for competition. I looked at 5 tractors that looked like true diesel supers, and went home 2 1/2 hours later...... Did I miss something? Looked like a great crop of alcohol tractors and a lot of light supers.

Give me your address via text and I will send you a rod for free. Neil @ 608-317-7321 ARP bolts should be purchased, and the rest of your rods will be fine. 450 hp wont hurt good forged rods.

Hey man- I believe the stuff you are looking for is available from U S Composites online. It is a two part urethane foam that comes in diferent densities. I believe the 8 pound foam is what you are looking for. Good luck, Sir!

Mr Couch- there is a product out there that manufacturers call an "8#foam." It is used for making targets and decoys. I will look up the manufacturer tomorrow and text you.

Three turbo setups are quite effective. I also have a pair of 4.1 billits on top of a 4.6 dual ball bearing base charger. Twins with the hx-82 style base and the ht-100 on top has worked well in the past, but I think that the three will be more competative. Still a two stage deal, but 3.9's or 4.1's on top grab a lot of air working together.

If your looking to be competative in the badgerland sanity class, you can do some things that others arent. Especially in the red zone. There are a couple built motors, but not many. Couple guys around this area run the 360 ag crank with 806 pistons (4.125 bore) yielding 408 cubes, but I think their is a much better combination out there. Call me and I will discuss it with you personally. 608-317

Dont take my word for it, but a motor that I wanted to run incorporated a very common 4 5/8 bore block and a 414 crank. It is a sweet setup for open rpm pulling. The drawback to it is that it nets around 475 cubes, and in the 466 class- you are over cubed. I intended on building it for tri-states hot farm class, and ran the idea past a couple of the guys in the class. They were fine with it, but

If you tell Karl that he has time to get a job done, he will take all the time he can get away with. If you call him and tell him that he is out of time, and parts are needed, you will have them. I dont know of any other way to stay alive in this business. Excellent parts at a better than fair price tend to fill up a machinist's dance card rather quickly. Just my opinion, but I will continue

Call Metz machine shop in Ohio. Ask for Butch. Contact info is available on the links page. Excellent work, and it would be done in a timely manner.

Butch at Metz is a fantastic guy, and does my crankshaft work. When it comes to differentials, you WILL NOT beat Karl @ Atlas. You will love his billit carrier, and his price is so low its dang near criminal. Get a billit from Karl, and roll trouble free for ever.

Atlas is the absolute best option. Karl made one for me recently, and it turned out beautiful. Great workmanship and the price brought a HUGE smile to my face. Dirt cheap. Came complete and ready to install. Only one problem- nobody ever gets to see it once its put in.

I have one listed for sale on the for sale page. It is 1" thick 6061 aluminum and bolts to the IH block. It is drilled for a probell bellhousing, but would be simple to drill it out for the IH cast bellhousing pattern. $500 608-317-7321

Do any suppliers make a timing cover to fit the 40 series Detroit marketed engine, or the newer IH motors? I believe a front cover off of the older 570 mechanical will work, but the pump sits so high, it interferes with the intake and turbo plumbing. perhaps there is an adapter out there to hang a sigma in place of the high pressure fuel pump or vacuum pump? What options are there?

Starter wouldnt clear bolt initially. Countersunk the bolt hole and used a flush headed bolt. Did a little grinding on the bottom of the starter. No interference. Tried a 10 tooth gear first. Didnt work. Tried a 12 tooth gear. Still wont engage. Just wondering what starter other guys have ran.

I put a dt360 in my 656 farm tractor. Used a factory 666 rear engine plate and a new IH 666 flywheel for the 312 engine. Everything is together, and ready to run it, but my starter will not engage the ring gear. The starter that I bought turned out to be for a 686 gear drive tractor, and had a 10 tooth drive gear. When things didnt measure out, I called the company and questioned the application.

I would bet money Bill that the worst trip to NFMS couldnt match the trip we made to Gordyville a few years back. Before leaving the Badger state, O'Rourke's trailer brakes were freezing up. Does anyone out there in the pulling industry have a Columbus prostock turbo for sale? I have been looking for two years now for an outdated charger that Columbus built a few years back.
