Friend asked me to take a look at his tractor complaining that his lights dont work. Took my multimeter and found that the majority of his bulbs were blown, and with the light switch on, 24+ volts are going to the bulbs through his light switch. The light switch has two posts on it for battery "a" and "b" however, one post reads 24volts while the other one reads nothing. I get the same readings o

151's were available on 1566's then? I was pretty sure, but haven't proven it yet. I'm pretty knowledgeable on the red ones. My gut feeling is that I truely found an all original 1566 with 2400 hours. Everything is right. No signs of wear on the drawbar. Tires are properly worn for the hours etc. If I could date the Firestone 151's, I could prove it to be in original cond

I have all of the codes off of the tires. Actually all of the small print from around the bead area and sidewall are all the same except for one digit, and they are sequential. One has an 8 in a certain spot whereas the other side has a 9 in the same position. Just wondering if it was possible to date these tires to assure my belief that they are original to the tractor. I just brought it home fr

Anyone know what the factory rear tires were that IH offered on the 66 series tractors? I have a 1566 that I believe to be a low hour tractor. It has firestone gum dipped 20.8's on it. A little less than half tread. Hour meter shows about 2400 hours. Is there a way to date the tires?

I HAVE A CUMMINS CAST MANIFOLD ALREADY DONE UP AND AN ADAPTER FRON T3-T4. PUT A DT360 IN A 666. THIS SETUP PUTS THE TURBO ABOVE THE NUMBER 2 AND 3 CYLINDER. WORKS GREAT. LOOKS GREAT. PULLED ONCE WITH IT. NOT ALLOWED TO RUN TURBO IN THE CLASS I WANT TO PULL IN. $600 SHIPPED TO YOU. NEIL @ 608-317-7321
My manifold is a two piece aftermarket cast manifold. Flows great. Like brand new. Only pulled

Not to cock off, but in my opinion, most would choose the common 4.25 bore because the blank is available finish honed in that size right from darton. No need for custom sleeves. Some might push the 4.28 bore, but I dont know if the benefit would outway the cost.

Look at the dynamics of the combination. Very close to the 404 deere with a 4.25 bore and 4.75 stroke. Hmmmmmm.

The rsv on the rear tag identifies the governor as an ag type governor. The 400 and 1100 values indicate factory rpm settings. Remember- inline pumps run at 1/2 actual engine rpms. Because of this, your governed rpm range would actually be 800 to 2200 engine rpms.

We ran a dana 60 in our chassis. Drilled out the welds and removed the steel axles. Made new short tubes out of aluminum. Worked great.

Looks great, Jason. I cant seem to get my pictures from my cell phone to the web page. Files are excessively large I guess. My new diesel superstock should debut at the start of 2015 as well. If anyone needs proof, I guess you could text me or stop by the farm and have a look for yourself! Is there as much resentment out there for the diesel superstock class as this forum suggests? I agree. Karl does have his own twin countershaft. Better price than any other guarenteed. I would have went that route, but they were not available when I needed to buy, so I got a profab. I would buy a new one from Karl before I would spend the time finding an 11605 and ordering gears. Aftermarket trannys get ratios much closer than the fuller gears. Also- an Atlas would be cheaper, lighter and

In the mid 80's, the dinosaur 905 5 speed twin countershaft was updated to what is known as an 11605. It came in multiple ratios designated by the letters A through D following the model number. They are all very heavy, and made with the same old 905 case. Cast iron. They weigh twice what my profab weighs. The 11605 is also a fine pitched gear transmission. The fine teeth increased the torqu

Thanks Injpumped. Good info. The letters were the same on both sets as well. Stanadyne make, and all identical. My tractor was originally a gas, so the pump plumbing has beed done with bits and pieces around the shop. What do you recommend for head pressure? The small hole in the return fitting is just fine?

I pulled these injectors out, and the numbers and markings were identical to the set in my 468. Would they still be sized differently. I believe you to be correct about the 4386. My error working off of memory.

There arent bosses for the tractor bases. I built the one bracket and only used one filter. I guess I'm a minimalist. Do my symptoms sound like fuel starvation to you? Sure seems like it to me. Any thoughts on head pressure? Importance of return line?

I left the same injectors in the dt-360 when I converted it over from the factory A pump to rotary. Should I have them set at a lower cracking pressure as well? Perhaps I should build a new bracket and go back to the factory plumbing of the fuel feed system. Dont like the idea of feeding the supply pump unfiltered fuel.

I have a 1993 dt360 in my 666. It has a 3lm special turbo with a 2.5 compressor wheel. The "A" pump was removed for a 10mm model 100. It was supposedly off of a 5288, but running the numbers on it, it comes back as being from a 4586 type of tractor. Either way- it fires right up and runs great for a while. Shortly there after- it will do different things. Blow noticable white smoke at idle, studd

Might be a heck of a trick to make a rear engine plate that thin. It will have to be made with a step for sure. You need a minimum of 1 " around the crank for the rear seal and pan rail to bolt up correctly.

You could run the 300 series block and hit 370 cid really easily. 312 crank with Darton common 4.25 sleeve blanks and a set of deere 4.25 pistons will do it. Plenty of good 300 series engine parts out there, and with the 4.25 bore, rods are easily pulled out the top, and a respectable intake valve can be achieved.

466 block runs main caps designed to accept the factory crank main journals of roughly 3.375". The 40 series detroit labeled navistar engines as well as the newer yet Maxxforce engines all maintain the same bore center spacing, however- the rod and main bearings get larger as you move to the more recent engines. Maxxforce DT/ 9/ 10 engines all use a 4" main journal. Not to question you, or your i
