Farm stock IH tractor. One group requires the the 3lm-466 turbo, other group has open charger rule. My other turbo is a borg warner s366. Is it easier to cut down the outlet on the 366 exhaust housing to fit inside the stock ih exhaust elbow? Or is it just as easy to grab another 3lm exhaust housing and fit it to the s366? Any thoughts or experiences to share? I want to keep the factory elbow bec

Dont be to hasty to label an entire group over the poor experiences with a few individuals. The Gallitz team here is Wisconsin is an excellent example of what pulling teams should be. The Showtime team that is comprised of the Darlage family in Indiana are of the same mold. I am sure there are plenty of 4.1 tractors that could rrpresent well on a professional level. My experience tells me that th

I love the smoke as well, Don. However- the unlimited supers are a great class. As far as the light supers go- I like the class, and it is well represented with Wisconsin tractors. A couple guys from the northwoods might show up with some blue iron in the trailers, so the Chisek tractors wont be the only act in town. Should be a great pull.

Kevin Campbell can supply the exact same turbo as Columbus for $3300. Neither Columbus or Campbell charge for cores. If you are interested, I have about 10 of those turbos in my shop. Various wheel combinations. 608-317-7321

I have a torque sitting here that I just removed from a 1466. I slid the front carrier off of it, and thought I would put a bearing in it for strength. Maybe a guy doesnt need to. I believe they are all the same. I can block the three supply tube holes easy enough. I was just wondering if anyone knew what bearing most kits came with. I would like to come apart and go back together fast. Time is a

Does anyone know right off hand what support bearing guys are using in the front TA housing whrn you convert from the clutch packs to a strait shaft? Last time I did this on a 1566, I bought a complete kit. This time I found a good deal on a straight shaft, but dont have the front housing with the bearing. Perhaps someone out there has the part I'm looking for??? Neil 608-317-7321 thanks guy

In my research pertaining to ultimate top chargers, I went through all of the usual suspects. The HX-82's with every wheel imagineable, the 93's and 95's from Air Research, etc. The ones I found most appealing were actually a box charger from Precision. Now I am talking about larger turbos than what this thread is pertaining to, but I was so interested in the geneology of these tur

Another thing that I wonder about is why in the heck do the deere guys stick with the factory head design? I have seen several guys make billit deere heads that arent a cross flow design. Crutchfield's deere head is a crossflow head. Granted the pushrod runs through the center of the port, but it still has got to be far and away better design than the status quo.......? The hypermax and himes heads were designed to meet the rules. If not, a great deal of the superfarm tractors would be found in violation.

Kill switch failure on a single turbo tractor? A new chassis at that? Not hardly. The tractor was at a complete stop in the sand until the pan hit. Unless you have access to a different video than the multiple angles I have reviewed. He was deep, but he wasnt over.

Truck classes are very important! Two wheel drive or four. Gives everyone a little intermission to use the bathroom and order another round of drinks for fellow attendants. I have been to the NFMS, I have attended the Keystone Nationals, I have been to Gordyville and I have been to Viola Horse and Colt show. Same story everywhere across the country. If it isnt a tractor, its a great opportunity t

Is a large backplate and cover for an hx-82 hard to find? I got an hx-82 yesterday that has a water cooled center section that I would like to get away from, or match. Anyone have an extra center section hanging around the shop? Hc5a through hx-83 would work. Preferably the basic center section but would consider the ugly water cooled one as well.

I am attempting to run my columbus prostock turbo as a base charger with 13 blade g-trims on top. Big back hx-82's are the basic foundation. There is a pair of 4.1 wheels listed on the pulloff for sale page. Would they be big enough to grab the air, or just pick up a pair of 4.3 billits and be done with it?

With the extensive turbo research that has been done the last few years, can this question be answered with any data? The 11 blade is preferred for diesel applications I assume because all single charger 4.1 turbos come with them. They must drive harder than the 13 blades. Would the 13 blade wheels work ok on top chargers? Should run well on an alkie. Any thoughts or studies done on this? Always

Some guys are passionate about the subject. Sounds to me like they want to claim that they discovered or perfrcted the mechanical fuel injection system. Was used on corvettes back in the early sixties. The systems used today are simple adaptations of technology developed 50 years ago. Heck, EFI has been standard on vehicles for 30 years. I think its silly that technology that allows an engine man

Depends Robert. I've used a Mack pump on an IH before. The older Mack models have really good cams in them, and are 12 mm pumps from the factory. One problem that you will run into is that some have a much larger front taper on the cam than what a guy would normally see. Takes a little bit of machining to get things to fit.

Thumbing through the ntpa rulebook, it says that regional light supers can run intercoolers if they are either diesel powered or an alcohol running with a cast iron head. Does anyone out there run a cast iron head in regional superstock? It states also that the heads cant be a hemi style head. Valves must stay aligned, and within 15* of cylinder wall. Do these rules exclude aftermarket heads like
