In my previous post on this thread, I mentioned I appreciated the numbers in the class although understanding the original poster's comment. I think back to a local county fair here in IL that used to carry the Pro Stock tractor class. Yes, its an early/mid June fair so some of the farmers/pullers may still be in the field and can't make the trip. In a 3-4 year span, they averaged 3

I understand what the original poster is saying. Something I have always wondered, and this situation might be one of the best examples to look at, is about financials. If each tractor was considered, looked at, and kept track of like it is it's own business with both inputs and outputs measured, how many of the 3 in this class would be "profitable" if any of them. I have heard it said fo

I know I am a day late and a dollar short on when/where some of the vehicles exchanged hands, but had the XXX ULSS of Keener's leave his stable? Thank you for the info.

Water on the track please? I am wondering if the sled operator could even see how far the tractor had gone. I have not been to a pull that dusty before. Just an opinion and observation.

Jerry, Great job on getting the pull started on time. A very, very nice change from years past. Would have been nice to have some more cloud cover but I know you cannot control that. It was too bad a number of the super stocks (lite & heavy) seemed not to run the best, but a good show altogether; my family was pleased. Thank you again.

Thanks Jerry, looking forward to it once again. As mentioned above, it would be nice change to see a vehicle going down the track at 5 o'clock or relatively close. Everyone always needs a year to get their feet wet, as you mentioned in last year's thread. See ya all then.

Sully, Below are my videos I took that evening you reference. Like you, I will never forget it. Regardless of when the driver let off the throttle or was red flagged, I have not seen anyone in any class move a correctly functioning sled like that since that time. They had Red Thunder, 504 Rocket, and The Bomb in the pull off. I have to admit, this is the year I got hooked and became an addic

This is just a thought from an avid fan as I have no skin in the game other than my 3 children love pulling because of my love and enthusiasm I have shown...oh...and the time they get to spend in big events like Henry where they get to meet the drivers, get their photo cards signed, and are asked if they want pictures taken on the pulling vehicle too...you know, that personal touch they never for

Andy, Thank you getting into this thread. I got on your Facebook page and love your machine. As an MM kid myself, it looks great. For the sake of knowledge, and please forgive me my lack of identification skills, what brand of engine is your base? Thank you again and hope to see you run this year.

...the real question is how much is drying and storage going to cost everyone. Then taking that into consideration, how much of it is going to be left in the field to dry versus picking it in the mid to upper 20s. But as always, we won't see any price decrease in the grocery store isles or the meat counter for another year from now.

Can't say anything else except what an awesome time. Thank you Jerry, Henry, and crew for putting on a fantastic show. But you can tell the Mav TV camera man on the scissors hoist he can move another 50-100 feet down the track towards the entrance to the pits.

Jerry, Again, thank you for the communication you have regarding your event on this board. "My crew" is very excited and looking forward to it. The event staff will surely have their hands full with 8 classes in one evening so I would think everyone ought to leave feeling very blessed once the night is over. The forecast has no rain in it with a high of low-80s (maybe). What more could a fan

Jerry, We can't wait for this event and are very excited. We are bringing a couple first timers this year and the questions have not stopped since the rain out last year. I seem to ask this every year, but I only humbly ask to prepare the guests I bring of what to expect. What kind of opening ceremonies are you having this year? I know 2014 was quite extensive and plans were to correct t

Here's an interesting scenario, or just being goofy, but have PPL and NTPA make the V-8s illegal. Chizek and Hirt now both have top notch V-8s to run. I'd like to see them mount them side-by-side on a modified and run them. Now that would be fun to watch; V-8 ag engine versus automotive. I'd pay for that show... =

I get the pleasure of bringing my 3 boys (all grade school aged) and my dad to G'ville for the first time this year. I have been 2 other times in the last 7 years and enjoyed myself. Here is my question; we are coming for the Sat. evening session only due to other commitments. Will the facility be emptied out of spectators and then everyone come back in through the "gate" once again for t

Keith, I purposely waited to call the fair office this week to ask about the pits and they are closed. We would prefer to have the infield seats simply due to not being under any cover due to noise. Since you have been there and are the only one I know of that may be able to speak intelligently about the situation, if we do not attend the 12:30 show, will there still be good seating available i

Since Henry was a rainout and my kids continue to remind me that we have not been to a tractor pull yet this year (missed 2 during vacation), I am looking at Sandwich on Sept 12th as being the best option. If you are gonna run 8 classes, may want to push the start time to 5pm instead of 6. Will never forget the year the mods ran at the very end and woke the town of Henry up at 10pm...LOL Thank you again and already have excited kids for next year.

Allan, below is another thread we had talked about regarding this event.
But what is more concerning is the weather right now approaching central IL. I am not weather forecaster, but weather channel is showing a heavy storm cell passing through between now and 3:30pm. If its anything like what we got on Wed night, we may be rowing a boat places instead of driving.

Jerry, Thank you for your message to this thread. Please note, I have no problem honoring veterans and other people who have made an impact on our country and communities. It started out as a immediate family trip, then a friend started coming with, and now we have more extended family members coming. Not trying to get political, but lets just say 2 of our last 3 governors have spent time in prison...for good reason. Now we have a business man running the state/"company" and is attempting/trying to get it back on track the best way he knows how and everyone wants to hang him for it. The worst problem in IL is far too many people got used to handouts. And no, I am not saying this is the exac

I was posed a question this evening from my soon to be 6 yr old that I was unable to answer. He asked if at any time has a turbine mod "grenaded" its engine(s). We have seen plenty of "automotive" and "industrial" engines but can't say I have seen any of these. It honestly stumped me so I told my boys I would post a message on here and see what kind of feedback we received. Thank you all

Good post Sully, I am looking for that button as well. I have been to Gordyville twice since it is close but never been to Louisville. Upon viewing both tracks, I have always wondered why Louisville doesn't have a sand pile like Gordyville or some of the other indoor tracks. To me, it simply protects the pulling machines and the facility from the pulling machines. "Supposedly" the bigges
